Mauritius Spiritual Park Ganesha Homa February 2010

Jai Pancha Mukha Ganapati! Lord Ganapati lovingly galanded on the February Ganesha Homa ceremony at the Spiritual Park of Mauritius.

Very few men are able to secure a place inside the Ganesha Mandapam….now filled up with mostly ladies. Our three young ladies are children of the membership.

Devotees worshipping devoutly down the Mandapam steps.

Our Himalayan Academy Booth already set up early morning. A team would be there to provide information to devotees who wish to attend Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami's seminar on March 14th in Mauritius.

The crowd of devotees in front of the Mandapam….

Everyone is part of the chorus during bajans..

The Homa pit is alive with the sacred fire which will be consuming thousands of written prayers which will be delivered to the the inner world.

Devotees seated on the Mandapam steps.

Sending the written notes, first dipped in ghee, into the fire…

Brahmachari Vel Mahalingum who has been on six months Task Force at Kauai Aadheenam gives a testimony on how he has enjoyed being there among Bodhinatha and the monks of the monastery.

Kulapati Manon's talk was on Lord Siva, a subject appropriate for the occasion with Mahasivaratri approaching. In Mauritius Mahasivaratri is the greatest Hindu religious festival celebrated in temples of all denominations all over the island and is marked by a pilgrimage to the sacred Grand Bassin lake.

Here at the small Pancha Mukha Ganapati shrine.

So many flowers, betel and bilva leaves that one can barely see the Sivalingum… Everyone's mind is on Siva now.

An down the river devotees have started to worship Ganga, by ceremoniously offering water from a brass pot. Some day this spot will become as popular as Grand Bassin.

Devotees going home after the ceremony. One lady,on the left now lives in the US and is actually on holidays in Mauritius. She has immediately signed up for Bodhinatha's seminar in March. When a young girl she has been attending our Saivite Youth Retreats in Mauritius.
