Bodhinatha Reporting From Mauritius

Our team is very busy and reports barely having time to connect to the internet and when the time comes there may be no way to connection. Bodhinatha has managed to send some reports for Saturday, Sunday and Monday:

November 19th

Om Sivaya, everyone,

Jai Ganapati.

Another busy day. First activity was a homa and abhishekam to the Siva lingam at the Spiritual Park. The ceremony included thirteen vishesha dikshas, two arul sishya pledges and one brahmacharya vrata. All present poured some river water over the Narmada lingam as part of the ceremony. Many members commented it was just like the homas they see on TAKA that take place in Kadavul Temple.

Then a drive to Ebene which is the Mauritius cybercity to the Link Hotel there. Ebene is a bit south of Port Louis.

In the afternoon there were two activities at the hotel, first a seminar for Master Course students and second a workshop for Saiva Hindu Religion children’s teachers. These were from 3 – 7 PM. This is the first time we have used the conference rooms at this hotel. It was a good quality facility. It is great when after a long event there is no place to go except upstairs in the same hotel!

November 20th

Jai Ganapati.

Today was the Family Fun Day at Domaine de Lagrave. It is a nature preserve with a private facility on it that offers different adventures. The adventure we chose was a two hour treasure hunt. The members divided into six groups and sought out treasure with map and compass in hand. This was followed by lunch. Next we met all the youth and children and took pictures of them for the SSC website.

November 21th

Today the swamis made some business visits in the morning seeing our auditor and a representative of our bank. In the evening we had dinner at Kulapati Mougam’s restaurant in Curepipe.

Om Namasivaya,
Bodhinatha

Natchintanai-Bhajan Satsang at Kadavul

&nbsp

Our bi-monthly Natchintanai/Bhajan Satsang was nearly a full house with our Kauai members present and Sadhaka Tejadevanatha (behind the camera) Brahmachari Mayuran and task forcer, Woody.

Kulapati Vel Alahan brought his Pakwaj. It is huge! And though he’s just learning, having a drum adds a lot to the music.

Sivakatirswami took the group through the five areas we are working on: a little vocal practice, memorizing Natchintanai (we have been working on Thondar Nangale, to memorize and visualize without needing a song book), singing one gitam, a song to Lord Muruga from Tirupugal as rendered by Murugadas, our two Vedic slokas and then Swami asked each one to lead the whole group in a bhajan. We have a lot of fun together, singing to God, Gods and Guru!

Bodhinatha's at Goodlands Siva Suppramaniar Temple

November 18th, Goodlands, Mauritius:

Satguru Bodhhinatha Veylanswami was invited by the Goodlands Siva Suppramaniar Temple to give a Talk at the temple. Regular devotees and guests from all over Mauritius attended the event. After the normal Friday puja, Bodhinatha was invited in the social hall to give a talk. The topic was on The Sacred Siva Temple. After the Talk Bodhinatha signed many Hindu Chindren's Modern Stories. A big audience and and devotees waited for over one hour in the queue to have their book signed and be Blessed by the Guru.
