Harvesting Burdock
The Siddhidata Kulam grows and is constantly harvesting many wonderful things from the vegetable garden. They've recently harvested this Burdock plant, part of our ongoing initiative of trying out new vegetables to add variety to our diet. The roots of these plants can be harvested and eaten and are common in east-asian cuisine. Its seeds and roots are also said to have medicinal properties, primarily being good for the blood.

Ganapathi Thunnai!
Vanakkam to ALL!
It is really a very GREAT EFFORT , to maintain a Good Vegetable
Garden, for the Daily requirements of Pure Vegetables for the
Aashramam! Self Sufficiency too!
In Sivathondan Nilayam, Jaffna, too , from the Inception -04th Nov,
1954, Late Mr. A.Thillyampalam ,(Former President, Sivathondan
Nilayam), Also, Person-in -charge for the Building Project, as well for
the Compound Lay out, nominated by Our Gnana Guru Yogaswami
took lots of interest to maintain a nice Flower Garden, as well as a
Vegetable Garden too, for the Day to Day requirement of the
Nilayam, with self Sufficiency! Even to-day it is being continued, in
the same way, without any interuption! Going on Smoothly, with the
Blessings of YogaSwami. Great! Aum Shanthi!

This plant can quickly turn into a weed, so make sure to harvest before seeds turn the garden into a “burdock only” zone. Eating them sounds like delicious revenge. I shall look up some recipes.
