The Mauritius Innersearch Begins!

After months of planning and coordination between Kauai's monks and Mauritius' many members, kulapati's and kulamata's, the Innersearch was finally ready to begin with its traditional Crow's Nest reception. As Innersearchers flooded into the Hotel's conference hall, they were greeted with garlands and gifts, which included their unique study guides. For this year's program the study guides have upgraded from books to iBooks. Each participant has received a new iPad mini to guide them through the program, record their moments and hold their class notes.

To start of the evening, Saravananathaswami performed a short Ganesha puja then introduced Senthilanathaswami, the evening's MC. Swami welcomed the participant's and gave them a short overview of the coming adventures together. Bodhinatha then gave a short talk, welcoming everyone and ending with an inspired description of Hinduism. He stated that unlike other religions, which look toward what will happen in the future, Hinduism is a religion of the moment, of keeping awareness here, right Now. Sadasivanathaswami then welcomed everyone, followed by the three Sadhakas who each gave short welcomes and demonstrations. Rajanatha introduced himself and gave reminded everyone that, though Innersearch can be challenging, it is when we are challenged that we make the most spiritual progress. Mayuranatha introduced our quad copter, which we plan to use at the spiritual park and Jayanatha gave a quick introduction to the iPad and how to use the new study guide.

Following the Introductions, the group adjourned to the restaurant for dinner and a stunning performance by the Canagasaby sisters, who sang Yogaswami's Natchintanai beautifully.
