We recently enjoyed a visit from Gayatri and Shivani Rajan and Shivani's husband-to-be Daniel. They are all from California and the Rajans have long been connected to our global fellowship. Shivani is currently an herbalist and Daniel is a professional coffee roaster. He was pleased to learn of our monks' deep love for this tasty beverage. The three joined the Ganapati Kulam's morning meeting and received many insights into the many digital endeavors that our monks participate in. Afterwards Paramacharya Sadasivanathaswami took them on a short tour into our sacred gardens and to Iraivan Temple. Aum Namah Sivaya.
For those interested the the future of Virtual Reality and Augmented reality, here is a delightful Ganesha done by 3D artist Francesco Coldesina. You can click and drag this model to move around or scroll to zoom. If you have a VR headset you can click the little headset icon in the bottom-right to view in VR. Models like this can be scanned from real objects and projected into 3D space. Currently this method is being employed to reconstruct and archive some of the world's most precious works of historical art and architecture in 3D.
Archives are now available through 2001. Light colored days have no posts. 1998-2001 coming later.
