Satguru’s Europe Visit Highlights

"The 2018 London visit arose from an invitation for Satguru Bodhinatha to attend the 19th Saiva
Conference as a guest of honour. This is an annual two day conference hosted by the Federation of
Saiva (Hindu) Temples U.K; an organisation formed in 1988 to guide and counsel the Saivite temples
in the UK. The conference provides a forum for the UK Saivite community to come together and learn
about aspects of Saivism, and for the temples to exchange views and experiences alongside
challenges. One point of discussion seems to recur from the 1st to the 19th Saiva Conference - how
do youth who have grown up in the West remain close to the Saiva fold. As such a parallel youth
session has evolved at the conference, in English, which Satguru Bodhinatha was requested to lead
alongside delivering a plenary talk on both days of the conference to the UK Saivite community of
temple trustees, sivacharyas and devotees. Alongside Satguru Bodhinatha, the other guest was Srilasri
Somasundara Swamigal of Nallai Aadheenam whom Satguru met most recently during the February
2018 Himalayan Academy innersearch to Sri Lanka."
"Satguru received much praise in talks given by senior members of the UK Saivite community alongside
Srilasri Somasundara Swamigal for the dynamic work done by Kauai Aadheenam in affirming Saiva
Siddhantha and the uniqueness of the blend of traditional Saivite worship at the Aadheenam whilst
also producing what was described as the highest quality and authentic resources for Saivites to
connect with their faith - both for young and young at heart. The link of the lineage with Paramaguru
Siva Yogaswami was recurrently lovingly quoted."
"Satguru generously led a youth parallel session, in English, based on the Himalayan Academy
publication'Path to Siva' towards the culmination of the conference. This comprised a three hour
workshop which was packed to capacity as it progressed with a blend of young children to senior
elders - it seems the whole spectrum of the Saivite community are keen to learn! Satguru
Bodhinatha's presentation blended a fine balance of being comprehensive whilst detailed - a rare
skill. It went through esoterics of Hinduism and the Saivite Path alongside practical wisdom on
applying it to daily dynamic life in the West."
