2020 Ayudha Puja

Recently our monks and siplis took time from their work in order to offer blessings to the tools with which we are able to do all that we do. Ayudha puja is a traditional day of blessings when we give thanks to our tools and equipment. This is especially important in the sipli tradition. Satguru and some of our monks joined the siplis at Iraivan Temple for a short puja to Ganesha and Saraswati, an arati was passed over the many tools which have built this temple. Following a ceremonial stone-chipping, Satguru presented each sipli with dakshina and everyone then enjoyed some wonderful prasadam prepared by Chinnu. Aum.

Aum! It is very Well Observed the “AYUDHA PUJA” at

the Iraivan Temple Complex, by the Monks & Silpis (“STHAPATHIES”),

as a Hindu Tradition , during NAVARATHRI Season.! Great!

In fact, it is like the Thanks Giving Ceremony, for the Equipments, Instruments, Tools & vehicles,

used by Silpis, which are being used for the Construction work!

Similarly, the “THAI PONGAL” Day & “PATTI PONGAL” (PATTI means Cattle) Day, in the Tamil Month of January,

it is a Thanks Giving Ceremony by the Farmers to the SUN, CATTLE, WATER , the Machinery

& Equipments used for Paddy Cultivation & related Farming Activities too.! Great!

All above are basically a GRATITUDE Ceremony!

    (“NANRIUDAIMAI” in Thirukural)!

All the above are Observed for long Years, as a Hindu Tradition, especially

in Tamil Nadu of South India,Sri Lanka & Malaysia.!

All respective Pujas includes the Worship of SUN & CATTLE too!

    Aum Siva, Siva!

    Mikka Nanri (Thanks),
