When a Snail Eats an Apple Slice

“Nom nom nom”

This morning, this happy snail was fed an apple slice by our taksforcer Alexander, who took a timelapse of the little creature’s lengthy meal. These lands snails are one of the largest terrestrial snails. Full-grown, they can reach almost 5 inches (13 cm) in diameter and 8 inches (20 cm) in length. These gastropods are also surprisingly intelligent, being closely related to cephalopods like octopuses and squid.

That was fun. What I did notice the second time I played the video was the gazillion bugs buzzing around hoping to get a molecule or two of the apple (or the snail). 🙂

    Jai Jai Shree Maha Ganesh!
Thank you Alexander for this beautiful Video of a tiny Snail having a feast! Very touching since I have never observed a snail eating. For quite sometime I have been preoccupied with how a turtle withdraws itself within it’s shell like a spiritualist withdraws himself or herself within to progress further. I wonder if there are other reptiles with shells….
More fondly I remembered a little Children’s Story book titled: “THE SNAIL AND THE WHALE’ which I read numerous times to my grand kids in London. Lord Siva’s creations are flawless indeed!
    Aum Nama Sivaya
    Sivaya Nama Aum
