Rangoli in Kadavul
Greetings fellow Siva Bhaktars! Over the retreat we had an impromptu visit from a kolam artist named Divya. For those of you who don't know. Kolam is a traditional art form of South India in which multi-colored rice flower is used to draw elaborate, ephemeral arrangements in fronts of homes and temples. Divya created multiple kolams in and around Kadavul each increasing in complexity as she approached Nataraja. The design lasts for a day or so and can easily be cleaned as it is only made from rice flower. Aum!

We were at the temple today, and our experience there was indescribably beautiful; we did not realize that the monastery closed at Noon and had to be prompted to leave as we were just beginning to explore God and Nature. Every aspect of our visit today was divine and infused with spiritual energy and radiance. We hope to return soon so we can meditate at the serene banyan tree abode of Lord Muruga, and perhaps even enter the Iraivan temple that is being constructed .
A big thank you to Lord Shiva for making our trip possible, and to all those devoting their lives to ensure that the Kadavul temple remains a place of worship, love and peace.
