BAPS monks visit Kauai Adheenam

We were recently visited by five Swamis from BAPS. These Swamis are stationed at various BAPS centers around the country and always enjoy their visit to Kauai Aadheenam. For two of them, this was their first visit to the aadheenam. Many of them commented on feeling the peaceful vibrations of the monastery. One of the newer monks, who had never met a Swami of another order before, felt it was similar to how man would feel realizing he wasn't alone in the universe, this monk was struck with a similar trepidation and awe upon realizing we are not alone in the monastic universe. Moreover. After pleasantries were exchanged Bhadreshdas Swami formally invited Bodhinatha to the 100th Jayanthi celebration of the late Pramukh Swami Maharaj that will take place in Gujarat late this year. After that a few monks gave the Swami's a tour of the monastery grounds which was especially sweet as two of them had never seen the place before. Aum!

One of the extraordinary benefits of living on Kauai is the opportunity, almost daily, to be in the presence of Great Souls. Living near a Siva Temple that radiates from the core of the Universe is of course a Supreme Blessing – but being exposed to the darshan of those who are very deep on the inner path to Siva and never miss a meditation on Siva, never give thought to personal life is of immeasurable significance. If I had to explain it – it is like Great Souls are like tuning forks – you come into their presence and maybe you have a small conversation about the temple or plants or something happening on the Iraivan site or in their area of service – or maybe you share one of your burdens in hopes they can shed a little light and help you along the path. But what is happening on a Soul level is the real blessing – you are feeling their vibration vs your vibration, and this can be very, very humbling (as well as very inspiring) . . . and thus the pendulum swings. They help us realize both our innate perfection as well as illuminate our immaturity just by standing in their proximity.

Here is a little testimony from my wife you might enjoy: One of the services that some Kauai members perform is hosting at the temple. My wife, Amala was hosting the day the BAPS Swamis came to the monastery. They arrived at the Nepalese Ganesha around 11:00 am. So the temple was still open to the public. That morning a caucasian gentleman appeared at the door of Kadavul temple (without a reservation) along with his born Hindu wife. She must not have mentioned to him very much about Hindu temples or what happens there because he was awe-struck. “What is going on here? (!)” was his constant refrain. “What is that priest doing now?. . This is the most amazing place I have ever been!” and on and on as they stood out front with Amala their host. Then out of nowhere comes 5 BAPS swamis and the ENTIRE Ganapathi Kulam. Now to appreciate the impact here is to realize that our Guests rarely see a Swami. Yes, they see the Priest, but he stays pretty much inside the inner sanctum (especially since covid) or they might get a glimpse of a swami walking from the Ganapathi Kulam office to the gate to the inner courtyard but that is rare. But on this morning all of the sudden there is a large entourage of swamis who walk up to the entrance, right into Kadavul Temple, and arrange themselves around the crystal lingam and start chanting in unison the most mystical song /chant you ever wanted to hear (according to Amala). Now this man is simply flabbergasted “What was that!” (smile)

    Ganapathi Thunai.
    Vanakkam,
He had done a lot of good karma in his past births to be there at that particular time. Siva takes care of all the souls along their journey back to Him.

    “AUM”!.

Fortunate indeed all of you elevated souls of the inner circle!
