The issues were serious ones at this conference, and the attendees more serious. Youth, conversions, pacifism, health, history, the California textbook controversy, Hindus in Bangladesh, religious freedom in India, ongoing conversion, appropriation of Hindu wisdom by Western institution--all these were explored.
