Dandapadi

About

Just past Umbrella Ganesha stands Dandapani, a renunciate form of Muruga, wearing only a loin cloth. He is carved in stone, about four feet tall, and stands on a raised mound surrounded by tropical plants. Two rare palms are growing behind Him, the Pelagodoxa henryana. Behind and above stand mature Royal and Bismarkia palms covered in massive pothos vines.
