There are two great, holy scriptures in Hinduism: the Vedas and the Agamas. The Vedas teach about God and the Gods. They teach the high Hindu philosophy. They say that your soul is divine, that man is God. The Vedas explain the meaning of life. They describe the ancient fire ceremony and give us many Sanskrit chants. The Agamas teach the details of puja, worship, temples and yoga. They explain how to worship God Siva and the Gods.§

The Vedas are famous around the world. They were first written on stacks of palm leaves with wooden covers.§

Terdapat dua kitab suci yang teragung dalam Hinduisme iaitu Vedas dan Agamas. Vedas mengajar kita mengenai Tuhan Siva dan Tuhan-Tuhan yang lain. Ia mengajar falsafah Hindu yang tertinggi dan teragung. Vedas mengatakan bahawa roh kita adalah suci dan manusia adalah Tuhan. Ia juga menerangkan erti kehidupan. Vedas juga mengajar kita mengenai upacara api dan ayat-ayat suci Sanskrit. Agamas pula mengajar kita cara memuja, tentang doa, kuil dan yoga.
