Bodhinatha Off to California
Bodhinatha is in California in the middle of the retreat there. He left on Iraivan day durin our retreat with Sadhaka Satyanatha and Sannyasin Yoginathaswami.
Sun One Homa
At home we began a new, six-day phase with homa conducted by Senthilnathaswami.
Paramacharya Sadasivanathaswami give a discourse.
Progress on Gurudeva's Life-Sized Statue
Today our sculptor on the Big Island, Holly Young, sent a series of photos of the next stage of Gurudeva’s bronze statue, seen here in her studio.
There is much to be done, she notes, such as the refinement of the robes which will actually show the weave of the cotton!
But one gets the idea of the powerful details and spirit of the work.
Here is an especially telling angle. We see Gurudeva’s robes, flowing in space. It’s hard to believe this is solid wax and later will become metal and not fabric.
There will be a base on which Gurudeva stands, and that base will also be placed in a giant lotus of bronze. Jai to our dear, dear Gurudeva!
Today's Tour Day Visitors
With the completion of our new parking lot, we are slowly relaxing our reservations to allow more guests on public tour day. These fifty souls now know what a magical place Kauai Aadheenam is!
We offer a prize for anyone who can remove the ball from the lions mouth!
If guests walk briskly on the way back from Iraivan they witness Paramacharya Sivanatha making the final oblation to the Kodimaram and the four directions.
While this photo doesn’t really do it justice, this Anthurium is the deepest raspberry color, very unusual and I am sure rare. This little Gecko has even come for a closer look in broad daylight (also a rare sight).

Bodhinatha's Latest Upadesha: "Detachment from Experiences; Importance of Daily Vigil" (May 5, 2013)
All experiences are good experiences, necessary to get us here. Awareness of aspects of ourselves that are constantly changing is a liberating perception, breaking our chains to mundane areas, detaching from instinctive and intellectual to go into superconscious. The greatest challenge facing youth today is the lack of relating to the devotional side of Hinduism. Daily practice, daily vigil, moves us forward spiritually. Commentary on Merging with Siva, The Master Course, Lesson 21.
