குருபக்தி யேபெரும் பேறு
கொண்டாடிக் கொண்டாடி ஆறு

தரும நிலையிலே ஏறு
சங்கர சிவனேயென்று கூறு

ஒருபொல்லாப்பு மில்லையென்று தேறு
உண்மை முழுதுமென்று கூறு

திருவருளை நாடிநீ செல்லு
சிவாயநம வென்றுநீ சொல்லு

தன்னைத்தன் னாலறிய வேண்டும்
சாந்தம் பொறுமையுன்னில் தோன்றும்

பின்னை யுனக்குத்துணை நீயே
பேதா பேதமெல்லாம் அணையே

முன்னைவினை யென்றும்நினை யாதே
மூவாசை போக்கநினை வாயே

tharuma nilaiyiley eyru
sangara sivaney endru kooru

oru pollaappum illaiy endru theyru
unmai mul.uthum endru kooru

thiruvarulai naadi nee sellu
sivaayanama endru nee sollu

thannai thannaal ariya veyndum

Devotion to Guru

Devotion to Guru, indeed - great - boon
celebrate - celebrate - refresh

Dharma - on the state of - rise
Sankara - O, Siva - thus - say

one - evil, even - not there - thus - be clear
truth - all is - thus - say

Holy Grace - seek - you - go
Sivaayanama - thus - you - say

the Self - by thyself - to know - you must
peace - patience - in you - will appear

after that - to you - companion - you are, indeed
difference - sameness - all - quench indeed

previous - action - always - do not think of
three desires (1) - to remove - think of, indeed
