A Journey to the Bay Area, then off to Denver, Colorado

Image

On their first morning on the Very Big Island (the US mainland), Sadasivanathaswami and Arumuganathaswami met for breakfast with some of the ladies of our Golden Gate Mission. A delightful breakfast of sharing and telling Gurudeva and Bodhinatha stories.

The Golden Gate Bridge (75 years old this year) was nearby so we stopped for a walk, to stretch our legs.

We took this photo in an unusual way (yes, we are both the photographers and the subjects). We used the new iPhone Panorama feature. Sadasivanathaswami started the pan with swami on the left, then stopped as he came, handed off the camera, then Arumuganathaswami waited for Sadasivanathaswami to position himself, then panned the rest of the shot.

Then off to the Embarcadero area where the men of our Golden Gate Mission had arranged lunch, a time to discuss the many details of the now-happening Media Studio renovation, a major project for the Ganapati Kulam in the months ahead. Gayatri Rajan joined us, and all got to see a preview (it

s a secret) of the 2012 Mahasamadhi Souvenir. '

We ended the day with a drive to the RIOT facility in Sunnyvale. We were invited by K. Suriyakumar, head of ARC, and his COO, Dilo (both in New York today). A great tour of an unusual printing operation, with lots of ideas shared for future communications and graphics. Rick Ferris was our guide. Tomorrow our swamis fly to Denver just before dawn.
