Siddhidata Kulam Visits Kauai Fresh Estates
October 28, 2012
It is always good to see how successful farmers set up their operations. You can learn a lot.

Key things that the owners shared with them: mistakes not to make. make sure you orient your green house so that trade winds will come in easily. Clean fresh air is mission critical.

To enter the green house you must sterlize your feet on the way in! No bad bugs or microbes allowed inside!

Our team take careful notes on construction.

Kauai Fresh is has a very successful hydroponics farm here.

All these vegetables are grown without soil

These picture perfect veggies have a ready market at the local supermarkets and hotels.

The owners also have a beautiful park, have a wedding venue, conduct tours, and here, raise some golden talapia fish.

Monks join the tour of the property and learn some unusual facts about the estate: there are no chickens! and very few feral pigs!

We came up with a lot of new knowledge we can use here at home.

Our monks regularly seek out continuing education opportunities in their various fields of service. Last phase the Siddhidata Kulam went on a tour at the Kauai Fresh hydroponic farm and park. They have a special interest in growing organic produce in green house conditions which can be protected tropical pests without use of pesticides.
