Jai Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami!

One of our long time devotees wanted to honor Gurudeva's life and the Guru Chronicles (which he writes "is a masterpiece beyond compare") in some way after Mahasamadhi this year and sent us this little poem, (while at the same time "borrowing" the magnificent artwork in the Guru Chronicles). We thought we would share it with you. Jai Gurudeva! Beloved Guru to countless souls!

Image

Rishis long ago foretold
A bridge to the West of purest gold . . .

Image

Thousand-fold path again made clear
From the sacred fire of a Natha Mystic dear . . .

Image

Shiva\

s time had set the stage . . .
Slumber keeping cracked by age.'

Image

First a trickle, then a roar!
Cosmic power of ancient Saiva lore . . .

Image

Searching far, in a land so fair . . .

Image

A Sri Lankan Sage was sitting there . . .

Image

In a flash . . . a mighty hand!
Destiny ordained to far and distant lands .

Image

Countless men would hold him dear . . .
Mystic eyes that held no fear.

Image

Reaching down in darkness mire . . .
He pulled them up in spirits fire.

Image

Leaving soon His work was done.
All is perfect . . . . All undone . . .

Image

Nothing gained . . . nothing lost
Who could ever know the cost?

Image

Worlds within worlds are now ablaze . . .
Steeped in His holy mystic gaze.

Image

Deep within . . . where only Gods can know . . .
Infinite love for all below.

Image

First we thought -  with form no more . . .
Our Gurdeva\

s love was gone to far and distant shore!'

Image

Years of tears and suffering deep . . .
Little we knew . . . His love would keep!

Image

Learning slow . . . to call and hear . . .
Spine on spine His blessings near!

Image

First a trickle then a roar!
Cosmic power of ancient Saiva lore . . .

Image

Rishis long ago foretold . . .
A bridge to the West of Purest Gold!

Image

Thousand-fold path again made clear
From the sacred fire of a Natha Mystic dear . . .
