Jai Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami!
January 17, 2013One of our long time devotees wanted to honor Gurudeva's life and the Guru Chronicles (which he writes "is a masterpiece beyond compare") in some way after Mahasamadhi this year and sent us this little poem, (while at the same time "borrowing" the magnificent artwork in the Guru Chronicles). We thought we would share it with you. Jai Gurudeva! Beloved Guru to countless souls!

Rishis long ago foretold
A bridge to the West of purest gold . . .

Thousand-fold path again made clear
From the sacred fire of a Natha Mystic dear . . .

Shiva\
s time had set the stage . . .
Slumber keeping cracked by age.'

First a trickle, then a roar!
Cosmic power of ancient Saiva lore . . .

Searching far, in a land so fair . . .

A Sri Lankan Sage was sitting there . . .

In a flash . . . a mighty hand!
Destiny ordained to far and distant lands .

Countless men would hold him dear . . .
Mystic eyes that held no fear.

Reaching down in darkness mire . . .
He pulled them up in spirits fire.

Leaving soon His work was done.
All is perfect . . . . All undone . . .

Nothing gained . . . nothing lost
Who could ever know the cost?

Worlds within worlds are now ablaze . . .
Steeped in His holy mystic gaze.

Deep within . . . where only Gods can know . . .
Infinite love for all below.

First we thought - with form no more . . .
Our Gurdeva\
s love was gone to far and distant shore!'

Years of tears and suffering deep . . .
Little we knew . . . His love would keep!

Learning slow . . . to call and hear . . .
Spine on spine His blessings near!

First a trickle then a roar!
Cosmic power of ancient Saiva lore . . .

Rishis long ago foretold . . .
A bridge to the West of Purest Gold!

Thousand-fold path again made clear
From the sacred fire of a Natha Mystic dear . . .
