January Public Tours Get A Big Boost
February 2, 2013Jiva & Kanmani Rajasankara are here on a spiritual retreat from India for three months and many visitors and pilgrims to Kauai are richer for the experience. About eighteen years ago Gurudeva asked them to move from their well settled life in Malaysia out into the unknown of India as the carving site managers for Iraivan Temple. They responded with full heart and soul and what was at the time projected to be a five year mission is still going full steam eighteen years later! The power of their commitment is obvious in their smiles and sweet natures and this along with there direct experience in the creation of Iraivan has made our public tour a much more meaningful experience for our guests.

Jiva creates an impact by telling our guests in one breath that this magnificent temple was created with these two implements.

He knows how long each piece took to carve and can speak from experience how rare and precious this masterful work is even in India, where most carving is now done with electric grinders.

He jumps up on the floor of the temple and shows them how each piece fits into it\
s proper resting place like an enormous lego set. '

The recess lends tremendous strength and stability to each piece which interlock with every other piece.

The chains are always a show stopper and Jiva tells how only a few people on the planet are capable of hand carving these chains.

Kanmani supports Jiva at every stop.

So many questions from a very sincere group of souls.

Finally pure blue skies after three weeks of downpour.

The sun seemed especially sweet after such a long wait.

Jiva tells the crowd how, among other things, the panels help parents to educate the children when they take them to the temple.

Jiva gives a carving demonstration just like the silpis use to do before we had to send them back to India.

With Bodhinatha in Canada, Paramacharya Sadasivanathaswami graciously agrees to come and be with our guests who share with open heart their story and what brought them to the Aadheenam.

Here Sadasivanathaswami applies a \"signature card\" which is ingeniously applied to line up with the existing art and gives a special place and dedication to the signature.

It looks like it has always been there and gives a very special dedication about the release of the Guru Chronicles.
