New Computer Upgrades

It is an exciting time for our kulams as all of the monks are receiving new computers and upgrades for their workstations. This happens about every three years and is done all at once, much like you'd find happening at a university. Above is a slideshow showcasing some of the new gear.

The monastery is always staying up to date with the latest technology, in the pursuit of constant improvement of our seva. Being totally isolated on our garden island, technology is both our connection to the wide, wide world as well as our means of managing our many aadheenam projects and creating and updating teaching resources for those seeking them.

Here we are installing the CPU cooler on the new 16-Core Threadripper Processor that will be the brains of the PK Workstation. The compound shown here in the syringe is a special Thermal Paste that fills in the micro gaps between the CPU and the Heatsink to facilitate better heat transfer. Building our own workstations not only saves on cost but also allows us to better customize the computer for our needs.
