Media Studio Entryway Progress
August 2, 2013The media studio entryway has come a long way in the past few weeks. The more time consuming work of creating all the beams, rafters and sheathing is over and the team has moved ahead quickly with their installation. Here is a look at the roofs evolution from rafters to purlins to sheathing.

After the sheathing is all installed the jagged edge you see will be cut even. Another part of the roof will sit atop the unfinished face of the sheathing that the monks are currently installing.

several weeks ago the rafters were installed

The purlins were then installed along the rafters

This is the finished joint used to hold the long beams together. The wedges in the middle are pounded in and pull the joint together to lock it.

The purlins are all screwed down and ready for sheathing

The sheathing goes up relatively quickly

The under side is where it really shines, as the finished side of the sheathing faces down while the other side will be covered with the next layer of the roof
