November 11th Homa and Diksha
November 11, 2013The Aadheenam began its day with an early morning homa, which included a formal diksha for a pilgrimaging devotee. After years of study and preparation, Sivanathan Batumalai, here with his family from Malaysia, received his vishesha diksha, which is the second of two dikshas that all Saiva Siddhanta Church sishyas prepare to receive. He has now completed his full entrance into Sri Subramuniya Gotra and is known as Chela sishya.

Sivanathan sits with his daughter, and readies himself to receive his diksha

He begins by reading his vows and dedications to the Gods, to God Siva and to his satguru

Bodhinatha then initiates him with a powerful blessing.

Aum Namah Sivaya

His vows are then signed

One copy of the vows are burned in the sacred fire while the other is signed by those in attendance

everyone chants \"Aum hum haum Sivaya svaha\" 108 times

the group gathers to hear Satguru Bodhinatha\
s talk'

His upadesha this morning was quite special and will be available online soon.
