Here's What's Happening
June 17, 2018Aloha and greetings from the monks' midweek. As usual work is going on in all areas of the monastery. Let's get you up to speed:
Starting with Ganesha. Today\
s alankaram is just stunning. Everyday He looks like this with a different color combo, awesome. '
Mayuresh Visswanathan is here on a 6 week taskforce, yes! Welcome Mayuresh, may you have brought San Diego weather with you.
This large paperbark tree lovingly offered one of its main branches to our storage building in the most recent storm.
It\
s a big big tree with some chunks of the tree estimated at 8,000 pounds...how do we know that? '
Well we hired JP\
s Tree Trimming to climb up there and chop it down. The massive paperbark was only a storm away from dropping another monolithic limb, so we took action. '
Piece by piece the tree slowly came down and was turned into mulch.
JP\
s team worked very fast'
They also had the help of our dear friend Larry Conklin to bring most of the pieces down using his crane.
Aspirant Chandran and Yogi Adinatha load this new room with sensitive paper that needs to be temperature controlled.
The silpis are hard at work as always. In a few days they will have enough Nandi Mandapam pillar work complete and will start putting them in place.
And for that, the Siddhidata Kulam has recently erected this powerful quick tent to withstand the total height of the structure and keep everyone dry.
Who would want to work in the rain? Yup, you\
re right, no one would. '
And last but not least, our mighty SK brings in another award winning tomato! Looks like it is almost one and half pounds! And the eggplant, oh the eggplant!
