Gurudeva's Statement on America Under Attack
Larry Payne, a well-known yoga teacher in Southern California brings a group of students and fellow practioners to visit Kauai Aadheenam every year and have darshan with Gurudeva.

Earlier in life, Larry cured himself of back problems with Hatha Yoga and subsequently become a strong proponent of the ancient Hindu practice.
The whole group is pictured here having Gurudeva's darshan in the Guru Temple, where he answered their questions about the recent terrorism. Just like with our visitors yesterday, Gurudeva
explained that terrorism also occurs when parents hit their kids, or a husband hits his wife. A terrorist is someone who causes others to go into fear, he said. We passed out a printed copy of his response to the terrorist attacks, including his talk at the United Nations, "For World Peace, Stop the War in the Home."
Gurudeva's main advice was to "be aware of what is going on surrounding the attacks, but do not get emotionally involved, rather stay above it all in your higher nature." Gurudeva also reminded the group that terrorism has been common all around the world, for example dozens of Hindus being massacred in Kashmir yet the Western news media doesn't give it much concern. Only when America itself became the target of terrorist attacks did everyone pull together and get concerned about terrorism.

A cyberspace devotee Suryasri, in the United States, the State of Michigan has a big question. In Sanatana Dharma, we look at the Guru as God and worship him as such. But, Islam says that it is a very big sin to equate Allah with a human being.
Well, this has to do with a definition of God. In Sanatana Dharma, God is within everyone. God is all-pervasive and pervades the Universe. The energy in your body this very moment is coming from Siva.
We must respect the Islamic perspective. They don't look at God as all-pervasive energy that pervades the Universe. They look at God as something very different and we must respect that.
God-energy or God-shakti is flowing through you this very moment. But, through your Guru it is probably flowing more. More of it is flowing and that is why you are drawn to your Guru, trying to emulate his inner experiences, which is called worship.
