Gurudeva says: "You can gently purify yourself, while avoiding the burning fire of tapas, by following the disciplines of Saivite religious life and sadhana such as the yamas and niyamas, the pancha nitya karmas, scriptural study and other personal disciplines given by the Kailasa Parampara satgurus. These keep the fires of tapas only warm, not burning hot, and accomplish the same purpose over a prolonged period of time."

Our phase began with Sun One Homa in the temple as usual.

Here is our Sun One Talaivar meeting. Bodhinatha has been making some adjustments in our kulam assignments and Sannyasin Shanmuganathaswami is now the Pilliyar Kulam Talaivar. He's there on the left in the front foreground. At the Talaivar meeting, the basic coordination of day-to-day, phase-to-phase operations and schedules are coordinated.

As with all new young monks, our new aspirant, Thambynathan Shailesh Trivedi, is "making the kulam rounds" and here he is now serving for a period in the Ganapati Kulam. This is a time to get to know all the different monks and the various forms of Sivathondu everyone is doing. He's working on a video catalog of our video archive.

After a long dry sunny period we had a really solid night and day of rain. All the plants and our garden are very happy about that.

Malaysia Mission Malaysia Team Uplifts the Community

Natchinthanai Bhajana group, led by Kailasam Sinnathamby was founded nearly 10 years ago, aimed to raise funds for Adheenam and Iraivan Temple. They have been operating for a very long period, taking Deepavali festival as a season to sing bhajans in Hindu homes and raising funds in that course. This group consists of Kailasam's students who have been with him for many years and have contributed to Adheenam in many unseen ways.

A short prayer to invoke Ganesha before and after each bhajan session

Singing in glory of the Gods - Natchinthanai group in action.

The Natchintanai Bhajan team once again made its appearance during this Deepavali festival .

This year, the Nathinthanai group covered nearly 80 homes in different location and succeeded in raising RM 1500 for Iraivan temple in just 10 days. A Team from Sai Baba association also joined us in the effort, all the way throughout the 10 days. Their seva might seem simple but trust me, 10 days of full commitment and endless effort is not an easy task, it actually requires alot of energy & patience. We Thank You Natchinthanai Brothers, For All Your Contributions & Effort!!

It is wonderful to see our young ladies bring culture to their communities. Gurudeva would be very proud to see this.

Kulapati Easan Katir distributed Nine Qualities to Cultivate
in Children, nine keys to raising cultured people who don't
argue and fight. .

"Culture is the integration of the Divine in
everyday life."

And also the Yamas and Niyamas pamphlets.

"If anyone at school asks you, "do you have anything
like the commandments?" Say "Yes, we have the Yamas and Niyamas." The children can memorize these and learn ahimsa, kshama, drithi..."

.to a Tamil song "Ethanai Sonalum", which means "How Many
Times You Have Been Told". It's about a boy and girl who
are married. The girl is spoiled and stubborn, and they
have lots of arguments.

The girl runs home to her mother, who advises her to
not be so spoiled and stubborn, and to go back to
Him 'Avar'.

Good adults come from a good upbringing, without arguing
like this couple. Arguing leads to unhappiness and even violence.

Vanita gave a wonderful performance showing excellent master of the facial expressions of Bharata Natyam dance.

Title: How To Send Prayers to the Devas
Category: God and Lords of Dharma
Duration: 2 min., 12 seconds

A logical question may come up - "How do you send prayers to this magical Kadavul Hindu Temple and how much does it cost?"

The answer is - The prayer must be written very clearly, typed or printed, if possible. It can be faxed. It can be sent on email. It can be sent in a letter. If it is in a letter, and you write your prayer to the devas or prayers to the Gods, we won't open the letter. So, don't put anything else in it, that you want us to see. We will put the sealed letter into the fire and there is no charge. It is for free.

Now, if the prayer is answered to your satisfaction, it is traditional to send a gift to the temple, to keep the temple going. If it is not answered to your satisfaction, it is traditional not to send anything to the temple, but to send another prayer, maybe, more clearly written, with more detail.

The Kadavul Hindu Temple is just celebrating its 27th anniversary. It is connected to many of the major temples of India. In fact, at Chidambaram, the priests there call it Chidambaram West.

Ask the question, "Do you have to be a Hindu to send prayers to the Kadavul Hindu Temple?" The answer is - You can just be yourself, whoever you are and give it a try, see if it works. Also, if the prayer is answered, it is only polite to send a message to the devonic forces, to the devas and the Gods, telling what your prayer was and how it was answered, and show appreciation and thank-you.
