Gurudeva seated before a Shum Mural with portraits describing one of the Rajayoga meditations that he taught us. "Makadee ee sa reh" is the range of dimensions and spiritual energies from the fifth chakra upward above the head to the 14th chakra. Once one has achieved a measure of control over the flow of awareness and attained a powerful pratyahara (withdrawal from the fives senses) through careful adherence to the stages of preparation for meditation after sitting, then one can pursue these inner areas of consciousness. Directly behind Gurudeva is "ka de ee sa reh" which is the river of quantum like actinic particles and flows into the head of every human being from above, falling down through the crown chakra to the medulla oblongeta, the brainstem. One only has to tune into this flow...
Of course for many people such concepts are sheer fantasy as they can barely control the flow of thought even for 2 minutes. Try fulfilling this simple challenge Gurudeva once gave: "Don't let thoughts come unbidden."

Bodhinatha is in bright spirits on this photograph. A year has passed since Gurudeva's Mahasamadhi, during which time we made very few changes. Now Bodhinatha is making some major adjustments in our monastic staff assignments which will free him from a lot of his administrative overhead and strengthen the various kulams with some fresh winds of change.

Babu and Poornima are from Cupertino, California where they are working in a small computer company. Babu is originally from Andhra Pradesh and Poornima is from Bangalore. They are familiar with our web sites and when they came to Hawaii for some conferences, Poornima was very enthusiastic about having darshan with Bodhinatha. From an early age as a young lady she has always sought out the darshan of Hindu sages.
Meanwhile our cow Lani gave birth today to a small baby bull. This is an auspicious moment for the Aadheenam. Here he is still all wet from his mother licking him clean. He can just barely get up and walk around.
Sadhaka Tyaganatha wants to get her to the milking stand right away to be sure she is thoroughly milked everyday. Dairy cows have giant udders and produce more milk than the calf can drink, if the milk is not removed the udder will harden and give her troubles.
Lani is a Brown Swiss and came to us from the Big Island where she was raised on the open range. As such she is not as approachable like our other cows. She put her head down, ready to buck us if we came near her calf.
Sadhaka tries to entice here with some feed, but she won't leave her calf behind and is ready to protect him at all cost.
He's a beauty. The flash was too hot and the day too over cast... we'll bring you a better picture tomorrow.
She finally ran out onto the pasture and the little calf found his legs... we had to leave the scene to come in to bring you these pictures today. More cow stories tomorrow.
Meanwhile Chaturthi (born here on Ganesha Chaturthi 2 years ago), is also getting ready to have her first baby any day now. Chaturthi is a Jersey. We should have lots of milk at the Aadheenam soon!

In Bangalore, Jiva writes us saying: "This is the second last of the series on the Ayudha Puja function-the prize
giving. Here are the shields that are to be given away to the silpis.
This is Palanisamy our cook for the past 5 years. He is a
vegetarian and as such we only look vegetarian food for all the silpis in our work site.Cooking vegetarian food is not common at other work sites. He is equally a good cook like Chinnu in Kauai.
This is Sathayah aged 58, having over 40 years experience in stone carving. He is with us for the past 10 months. He is good and a well experienced silpi. Sathayah remarked," It is the first time in 40 years I have participated in a grand Ayudha Puja with games and fun. I like working at Iraivan because of the discipline and the respect given to a stone worker. In all places we are not given any importance. Here, I had an opportunity to give away the prizes.Nandri"
