Sadhu Paksha Day Ten

It is beautiful cool quiet day at Kauai Aadheenam. In other parts of the world, winter is setting in and the season of introspection is upon us as the sun moves deeper and deeper to the south... as we move toward the solstice, snows are falling and it's time for a story...

Of course everyone in Mauritius and Australia will tell us that summer is here and it is hot as can be!

Be that as it may... let us continue with our story.....

Story: Several years ago a man in the Ukraine, now Chandra Shekharan by Saivite name, discovered Gurudeva's teachings on the internet and also read Dancing with Siva in the Russian language... He became a student of Himalayan Academy....

Story continues:

Chandra was serious about having discovered his Hindu path, and dedicated himself to Sanatana Dharma and to Sivathondu...

Here is Chandra, who has translated Merging with Siva into the Russian language and then, when Gurudeva went to St. Petersburg on the last European Innersearch, Chandra and his daughter Julie went to see him and Chandra received his Namakarana on board the ship in harbour. This year, Chandra went on a pilgrimage to India. Guided with some advice by the monks at Kauai Aadheenam, veteran pilgrims and with the help of good souls in India, Chandra just reached Tamil Nadu a few days ago and writes to us from an Internet cafe in Kanchi:

I am in Kanchipuram! Just got an access to Internet and send you a short letter.

Just came from Kamakshi Amman Temple! I had to show my Namakarana certificate and the senior priest K.S. Chellappai let me enter the temple and invited me to have a talk with him after puja! Very nice man!

Tomorrow I go to Thiruvannamalai after morning puja in Ekambareshvar Temple and a few shoppings.

The first temple is really GREAT! Imagine... just dark night, moon, stars and the lights on the golden plated temple!!!!!!!.......

It looks as I am really coming home after a long journey....

Chandra Shekharan, the third year Himalayan Academy student. Chernigov, Ukraine.

Here is Chandra's daughter Julie in a photo at their home in the Ukraine... now, Kanchi is famous for the finest saris in the whole world... so we can imagine what her father is shopping for there.

On the back wall are photos of her and her father with Gurudeva in St. Petersburg.

Here is a close up... you can see Gurudeva with Chandra and Julie in the background. Julie is 18 and studying computer programming.

Thus endth our story of the transmission of Saivism by Gurudeva across continents, nations and generations to wonderful souls in the Ukraine!
