Tuhina walks now and usually has a smile of delight on her face. Yajatadeva grew a few inches in the Hawaiian air and learned to talk!
Lunch today, Sun Three.... the day when the Pilliyar Kulam relays the news of their activities. The new Talaivar, Sannyasin Shanmuganathaswami relates his work in programming the data base to more efficiently handle donations' receipts. And Sadhaka Jothinatha shares with everyone news about Hinduism Today distribution.
The Ekadanta Kulam, made up of Sannyasin Saravananathaswami and Sadhaka Dandapani (who is our new photographer in residence and is behind the camera), are working on a special mailing to all the households of sishya of Gurudeva and Bodhinatha of the Maha Samadhi souvenir booklet.
The souvenir booklet has wonderful photo spreads of Gurudeva.
The other big push is the final work on Dancing with Siva which is only days from completion. Here is Acharya Kumarswami entering some verses from Siva Yogaswami's Natchintanai book.
Yogi Japendranatha and Thambynathan Shailesh have completed all the binders.
Post-it notes indicate final adjustments to be made.
Yogi Japendranatha has been doing a great job as the "production manager' for the book team, and is in the final process of creating hi-resolution PDF's for the printer in Malaysia.
The art work in this edition of Dancing with Siva is another quantum leap in quantity, quality and stunning beauty.
Paramacharya Palaniswami has for years master-minded the coordination of work by such fine artists as S. Rajam and A. Manivelu, both of Chennai, India, with help from a dozen others. Now he sees the final results of that work taking shape. He carefully reviews every single piece of art, making adjustments as needed.
Sannyasin Natarajnathaswami has also been an integral part of the book team, color correcting all the photos, creating all the exquisite background patterns and other diverse parts of the art and design aspects of the book.
Here he is doing a hand made Om Namasivaya and Aum as a preliminary step in the process of creating a background. Each pattern in the book is tied to the theme of the chapter. Next he will scan this artwork and then use it to generate a pattern which will appear underneath the title of the title page for that chapter.
In the back of the book we have a variety of resources, Thambynathan Shailesh was given an opportunity for his first creative project to put together this page that invites readers to visit our web sites.
Here we have a retrospective photo of Deva Magdelena from Honolulu who came recently on pilgrimage. Her transparency and humble service reminded us of the Tamil Saint Appar as she daily quietly swept the walks around the temple.
Aum Namasivaya!

Iraivan Temple Progress Update |
Join this historic undertaking. Please contribute generously. Sponsor a stone today! |
Order Sacred Rudrakshas or Gorgeous 2003 Iraivan Calendars with Hindu festival days on them. Great for Gifts! All proceeds go to the building fund. |
In the distance we see Iraivan peaking through the trees in a view from the monastery main buildings.
Imagine one day walking up from the Wailua river and approaching the temple, water in hand. This is what you will see...
As you near the south end of the temple, you will enter beneath the Raja Gopuram from which will hang a stone bell and chain.
Inside the crystal edifice you will sit and feel the power of Lord Siva through your whole being.
Marvelously carved pillars will surround you, each with symbols that embody the spirit, the teachings, the culture of Saivism and Hinduism.
The place where "the world comes to pray."
In a few days we will take down part of the retaining wall that surrounds the main sanctum.
Do your Maha Vasana Tantra now... so that you will be free of your past to one day sit in Iraivan and merge in the Ocean of Bliss.
