It was a joyous moment to receive home our beloved Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami after a successful trip to Malaysia and Singapore. He and Arumugaswami arrived home in great spirits and good health.
We have today put up a new video of Bodhinatha's last Sun One talk which was a "pre-release" version of the talk he gave in Malaysia. Click on the link below to view the new video.

All the monks greet Bodhinatha on arrival
Each one offers a flower.
Washing the feet of the arriving Satguru.
Decoration of the sacred tiruvadi.. the living Tiruvadi!
Arati.
Jai Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami kri, Jai!
On arrival home a short arati is performed to Lord Ganesha, Lord Muruga and Lord Siva to bless the returning swamis. Many have remarked that Kadavul Temple seems to "come alive" and shimmer inwardly with a powerful force to greet the returning Satguru.
Bodhinatha gave a brief account of the trip saying he was inspired to enter into a new working together relationship with the Malaysia Hindu Sangam, who need our help on various matters. He said the trip was a great success thanks to the advance planning from the Aadheenam and the wonderful work of the members in Singapore and Malaysia.
The young lady on the right lives in Honolulu with her husband and came to visit the temple recently during the last Sadhu Paksha. Her relatives (on the left) from Canada came to Hawaii and she brought them over on a mini-pilgrimage to the Aadheenam. They are a Sindhi family who now live in Canada.

Excitement is in the air as preparation for pillar raising is underway.
Four pillars will go up soon. A professional crane and rigger will be enlisted for the job.
In order to adjust the heights to ensure a perfectly level roof, Sthapati could easily ask the silpis to shave off some of the top or bottom of the pillars, He has instead decided he would prefer to touch them as little as possible and so he is notching the bases into the Foundation and also chipping our more from the hole at the top in the potagai.
A sacred plant carved into the pillar. Please give generously to the Iraivan Temple Project. You can sponsor one of these Chitra pillars for US$21,000.00, which you can pay for over time with a monthly pledge, or all at once as you see fit.
We are keeping our TAKA short today as we are in the last few hours of wrapping up the editorial production of the next edition of Hinduism Today. Next phase we will bring you more wonderful photos of Bodhinatha's mission.

Title: Living in the Eternity of the Moment
Category: Meditation and Yoga
Duration: 2 min., 58 seconds
Date Given: January 26, 1999
Given By: Gurudeva
Today at Kauai Aadheenam, January 26th.
We have just experienced a two-day retreat reflecting on what we did and what we are going to do. A very inner time. We concentrated on the eternity of the moment. After all, that is the only real time that exists, isn't it? The eternity of the moment. The past you cannot do anything about and the future you are constantly creating. If you give a meal to a hungry person, you are feeding yourself in the future. For, one day down that road of time, you will be a hungry person and somebody will give you a meal, to satisfy that hunger. That is the way the Law of Karma works.
We have a question from Anil Bharadwaj, from Oslo, Norway, who is wondering about concentration.
Concentration precedes meditation, Anil. We have to concentrate on something that holds our attention. So attention precedes concentration. Attention, concentration, meditation, contemplation, samadhi. That is the way it works. If you are having problems concentrating, Anil, choose something that you are very interested in, and the concentration will be there. You will be enraptured and meditating upon that what you are concentrating upon.
I understand you are going to India, Anil. If you are going to South India, let me know. We have wonderful places to visit and we can supply some contacts of students all through South India. You can visit our temple site in Bangalore where we have created a village and are building the beautiful Iraivan temple which is nearly half finished. We open the doors to South India to you, Anil and family, and hope that you will walk through them.
We are going to have a wonderful five-day phase on our Vedic calendar. This is the first. We will open our doors of the ashram again to you tomorrow and the next day, and the next day, and the next day. The next day will be a very special time, Thai Pusam. We are having a beautiful fire ceremony. But since we are on retreat here, it is only for the Mathavasis. That means, it is only for the Swamis, and Yogis, and Sadhakas and our new Brahmacharis. Wonderful talking with you today in cyberspace. It is always a great pleasure to look out in cyberspace, out through your computer screen, into your eyes.
Aum Namah Sivaya.
