Announcement: February 14th. The Aadheenam servers were "under construction" during our TAKA upload window today... so we were unable to bring you today's news. Stay tuned, we will be back up and online tomorrow, February 15th at 6:30 PM as usual.
Today (feb 14) was our monthly ashram sadhana day, cleaning and putting things in order. We also had a special plant project on Himalayan Acres. Gurudeva wrote:
"Cleaning the house is an act of purifying one's immediate environment. Each piece of furniture, as well as the doorways and the walls, catches and holds the emanations of the human aura of each individual in the home, as well as each of its visitors. This residue must be wiped away through dusting and cleaning. This regular attentiveness keeps each room sparkling clean and actinic. Unless this is done, the rooms of the home become overpowering to the consciousness of the individuals who live within them as their auras pick up the old accumulated feelings of days gone by. Small wonder that a dirty room can depress you, and one freshly cleaned can invigorate.

Yogaswami sang that which continues to be echoed in the teaching of Gurudeva and the voice of Bodhinatha:
In the harmony of universal Oneness, realise that You and I--myself and Thyself--are knit in indissoluble union with the infinite Reality."
"There is nothing wonderful nor irrelevant nor even discordant."
"In bliss of harmony, in the supreme felicity of His will lies our Peace."

Continuation of Praful and Jayshree Patel's Kauai pilgrimage. Here's a couple who really made use of the Aadheenam as a pilgrimage destination. For the 5 or so days that they were on the island they made it a point each morning to start their day by first attending the 9am Siva puja.
Following each Siva puja they visited different parts of the monastery.
On one morning they visited the Iraivan Temple site to see the progress of the temple, on another morning they had a wonderful meeting and discussion with Bodhinatha and the next day they attended the Ardra abhishekam for Nataraja in Kadavul temple.
Today, on their last day on the island, they can be seen performing abhishekam for the Kanappan Lingam on the path of the Tamil Saivite Saints.
We hope to see you back on the island again soon Praful and Jayshree. Have a safe journey home!
Lord Ganesha's New Home in Seattle
Nitya Nadesan sends us this story from Seattle about a temple society there who had been gifted a murthi of Lord Ganesha by Gurudeva.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today was the first of a three day ceremony of invocation of the following deities in the Pooja room at the Northwest Hindu Temple and Cultural Center in Bothel, WA, I was there today at the invitation of two of the board members
I have attached an archive of a few photos of the event. The plan is to use the stage area of the cultural hall for worship until an Agamic temple can be built on the 5.5 acres of land adjacent to the cultural center. In 1999 while in Seattle for a book signing Gurudeva walked the land with some of the temple board members.
They have set the Ganesha donated by Gurudeva in a special area where He can look at the front entrance and see and be seen by all who enter the building. There is a small plaque commemorating the donation by Gurudeva. It reads:
Lord Ganesha
Donated by Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami Of Kauai Aadheenam,
also known as Kauai Hindu Monastery
on June 16th 1999.
As I entered the building I was recognized by some of the board members and immediately escorted to the Ganesha murthi and told it was Gurudeva's donation that had brought the various factions of the northwest Indian community together and had manifested in their beautiful cultural hall and future temple. I left one of Gurudeva's cards on the peedam.
Here is our good Dr.. Virender Sodhi who is participating in the society.
Diksha and some of the local Himalayan Academy students plan to attend the Saturday ceremony.
The stage area of the cultural hall that will be used for worship until an Agamic Temple is built.
The murthis all appear to be from South India and of the highest quality.
Back at Kauai Aadheenam... ashram sadhana day.. Sannyasin Shanmuganathaswami and Sadhaka Jothinatha digging through old files to get rid of the unused past...
Meanwhile all morning the Ganapati Kulam was across the river. Today they planted 900 Coconuts! This brings our total up to about 1200 plus...
