We have this quote today, an appropriate one on the occasion of a visit from Pierce Brosnan and his wife Keely:
"Each of us has a story. You are the major actor on the stage of your life, playing the script that you wrote. You are the director and you are the lighting engineer, the stage manager, costume designer and make-up artist. When a particular experience or pattern of experience is repeated over a long period, it creates in the sub of the subconscious mind a latent tendency or propensity in that same direction. This is a vasana, which may be positive, shubha, or negative, ashubha. A negative vasana is like a subconscious motor that makes you do things you later wish you had not done. A positive vasana brings success and good fortune."

It was the Bhargava's 50th wedding anniversary.
Bodhinatha blesses them with a shawl.
And sacred ashes... It was a joyous ending to their week-long pilgrimage.
Today our Sun One Homa was done as usual. It was filled with a deep inner peace.
Gurudeva watching us from the inner worlds. as monks write their prayers.

The prayers enter the fire, to be conveyed to the devas.
Agni, the Messenger, carries away the offering.
We were delighted today to have special guests Pierce Brosnan and his wife, Keely. They were brought up to the monastery by our island friend, Roberta Hass. After a tour of the grounds and temple they came to the publications office. Bodhinatha dropped by to say aloha to our guests and here he can be seen gifting an autographed copy of Merging with Siva. Keely liked to see that it had a daily lesson format.
Some of you may know of Pierce in his role in recent James Bond movies, but Pierce wants you to know that he has made a new movie called "Evelyn" which is about love, faith and family.... He is going to send a copy of that to the monks to see him in a new light.
Out at the Iraivan Temple site Pierce shared with us his thoughts that to witness a temple being constructed is truly an amazing thing. He was mesmerized by the fact that the entire temple is being hand carved. Sundaram Achari, one of our resident silpis, gifted him with a chisel which he felt quite honored to have. He, like all our other guests, took a small granite piece of the temple home with him.
After visiting Iraivan Temple Sadhaka Dandapani took them around the property. Trekking up Muruga Hill...
Here they are on top of Muruga Hill, with the newly constructed lava rock wall and tile base awaiting the beautiful granite vel.
Keely who loves gardening truly enjoyed wandering through our property and being dazzled by the exotic plant life. Keely loved our Rainbow Eucalyptus grove and plans to one day have the same on her grounds. Here she is next to one of our palms.
All smiles when Pierce saw our beautiful Bali Hai falls.
They later met up with Paramacharya Palaniswami who offered to give them some Ti plant cuttings. Keely was overjoyed with this and she and her husband spent some time selecting from our prize Ti collection.
We also gave them about 8 sandalwood tree seedlings and a cinnamon tree seedling.
