Gurudeva after a Guru Puja, laden with garlands... "The spiritual body of you, which is permanent, has always remained constant. It has always been constant because it's directly in tune with the constant central source of all energy of the universe. This one source of energy feeds through your spiritual body and out through the intellectual sheath, the astral or emotional sheath, and the physical body. So identify yourself as the inner being. Never see yourself as an outer being. Then experience won't be reacted to. It will be understood from a mountaintop consciousness. Then experience won't be sought for for the enjoyment of the experience. The Self will be sought for, and the experience will be part of the path to you."

In Bodhinatha Sun One talk he mentioned that he was planning to bring the concept of tolerance down from the clouds to meaningful attitudes and actions: "For children the word tolerance needs to be expressed in practical ways... if we are tolerant of someone... what does that mean.. we include them, we talk with them, we give to them..." His point was that the end of hatred and prejudice in the world begins with the education we give our children in our own homes.

Cybertalk: Jai Ganesha! Bodhinatha and Arumugaswami have returned from a very successful program in Singapore and Malaysia. Bodhinatha had a seminar with the teachers of a Master Course seminar in Malaysia, and answered a wide ranging of questions relating to teaching Gurudeva's comprehensive trilogy. In this talk, Bodhinatha discusses Siva worship and one particular false concept some Hindus have of seeing God Siva as something other than the Supreme Being. All religions are worshipping the same Supreme Being, and of course Saivites call this Being Lord Siva.

Yesterday and today have been bright, dry and sunny. The Ganapati Kulam had completed painting the pool two weeks ago and now the window of sunshine opened again for Sannyasin Natarajnathaswami our resident artist and designer, to do his magic... painting an AUM at the bottom of the pool.

First, was a large inner circle of lighter colored blue... outside white "flames"

Kanti and Radhika Kanzaria came today with their daughter Janaki. They are from Boston and it is their visit to Kauai. Kanti's brother and sister have been here before and they strongly recommended to Kanti that he come too.

Another wonderful family dropped by today. Mr. Balasubramaniam and his wife, Parvathy, from Houston, Texas, came with their daughter, Revathy, and her family. Revathy and her husband, Shekhar, and two children, Vikram, and Maya, have never met Gurudeva but Revathy's parents met him at the Houston temple kumbhabishekam almost 20 years ago.

Everyone had a wonderful satsang with Bodhinatha today.

Engineers from the US Bureau of Reclamation visited the Aadheenam today to meet with representatives from the East Kauai Water Users' Cooperative, of which the monastery is a member. William Singleton (second from left) and Martin Einert (third from left) are civil engineers based at the Bureau's Lower Colorado Regional office in Boulder City, Nevada. They are seen here with Arumugaswami and Les Milnes, who is the field manager for the water coop. The Bureau is studying the extensive irrigation system built in our area eighty years ago by the sugar companies and will be recommending upgrades to the system. Among the possibilities are use of pipes to transport the water instead of open ditches, which are high maintenance. A piped system may provide opportunities for small scale hydroelectric production. The Bureau of Reclamation is responsible for building large dams, hydroelectric installations and irrigation systems throughout the Western US. With such projects behind them as the Hoover Dam, they bring enormous expertise and experience to the evaluation of the East Kauai system. This system is typical of a number of others in the State, and solutions found for here can be applied state-wide.

The Mardemootoo and Pallanee kutumbas happily hosted this month of March Ganesha Homa, now becoming a very popular religious event at the Spiritual Park. As usual, devotees gather early in the morning at the Ganesha Mandapam to worship the Lord with fruits and flowers. After a simple arathi, the flame is passed into the Homa pit to channel the divine shakti of Lord Pancha Ganapathi into the Homa. Mukya Somandiren Peruman is here leading the group.

We have a closer look of kulapaties Pallanee and Valayten making sure that the vibration is being kept spiritually high around the sacred fire....

Burning notes to Beings of the inner worlds is a mystical way to communicate prayers Gurudeva explains. This practice is unique in the island of Mauritius and is only practised at the Spiritual Park. The local TV is already working out a documentary on this subject and it should be released soon. Here hundred of notes are sent into the fire. Such notes from devotees are treated with confidentiality and are humble requests for assistance regarding whatever problem or project the devotee encounters in life.

Everyone is feeling the the vibrant energy inside the Mandapam while the Homa is going on. We can see kulamata Selvon Mardemootoo and Sarada koothan very attentive...

Members taking care of the Spiritual Park always come forward to welcome and host guests attending the event. Kul. Manon Mardemootoo is talking to one of them.

At the end of the ceremony everyone gathers in the shade of the mango groves where prasadam is being offered. Ladies are kept busy at that moment serving home made sweets.

Everyone enjoys the sweetness of the Ganesha prasadam....This makes them feel good all over when they reach home.

On early mornings one can see devotees voluntarily help cleaning up the Spiritual Park. This is happy karma yoga for Kulapati Mougam and his little daughter Bijamathi from Flacq picking garbage with the wheelbarrow.

Sweeping clean the lava rock steps of the Mandapam with a bamboo broom is quite enjoying to our young man Rohit Jugessur from Roches Noires.
