Gurudeva speaks at a Rotary Club meeting on Kauai, putting into practice the theme of "think globally, act locally." The same message he took to the United Nations, he also gave out here on Kauai. To raise up the spirit, morale and energy of Kauai we have to stop the war in the homes, right here on the island itself. By this he meant to work towards ending domestic abuse and corporal punishment of children. And also to continue the efforts to stop the use of drugs on the island.

In his talk on Isvara Pujana, Bodhinatha shared with us the inspiring greeting from Bali, where Hindus, when they meet each other in the morning, instead of saying "How are you?" They ask "Have you worshipped today?"
Swami's chanting Sri Rudram during the Sun One homa.
Agni carries prayer to the inner worlds.
Aum Namasivaya!
It was a powerful ceremony today, full of inner radiance.
We could feel the spiritual impulse that must have flowed through the hearts of the Vedic Rishis as they sang these mantras to the Sun:
By your light, O Sun, which scatters gloom,
by your rays which arouse the whole creation,
dispel from our hearts all languor, all neglect
of worship, all grief and evil dreams.
Sent forth as an envoy upon your course,
you superintend each creature's welfare,
rising with calm unvarying. May the Gods
grant us to achieve our goal today!
We have an abundance of what we call "Mauritius Pumpkin" which are giant beautiful pumpkins raised from seeds we got from Mauritius. They are one of the few gourds we have been able to grow who are able to withstand the fruit fly. Sadhaka Adinatha shares the abundance with our families this morning.
One piece of this giant specimen is enough for a single curry for a whole family.
A pilgrim family from California, who joined us for the homa this morning... They will be coming tomorrow also and for a few days.

After an entertaining Mothers Day celebration, the youths returned once again, with a much more comical Father's Day this year.
All shared ideas and views on the arising issues.
Next on the Agenda was the Father's Day celebration. Members taking their places while waiting for the event to begin.
Kailasam Sinnathamby, our Mc for the day welcomed all members for the occasion.
Wives garland their husbands, followed by gift giving session by the children. A beautiful shot of all fathers taken preceded, then....
"Give us a clue". A mindblowing game for all fathers.
" We are the dancers of country,
And we have come to tell you a story,
Listen to us while we sing and dance
The 40,s, 50's, 60's story of all Kulapathi's!"
(Left row : Hemavalli Sivalingam, Thivya Uma Pragasam, Puvana Murugesu)
(Right row : Juvasdeva Pragasam, Puventhiren Pragasam, Kantharuben Sivalingam)
(Middle : Mohana Murugesu )
And the crowd sets into laughter....
As our "Talaivar", Kulapathi Appasamy Kuppusamy (played by Juvasdeva Pragasam) makes his entrance.
Wondering who this might be? Its no one other than our Kulapathi Murugesu Kandasamy (Puvana Murugesu) in action!
The story of Kulapathi Guhan Sivalingam comes next.....
This romantic couple often dances for their favorite duet...When no one is around at home!(Hemavalli as Kulapathi Guhan & Puvana as Kulamatha Roobavathy)
King of Bangra, Kulapathi Dassan (Puventhiran Pragasam) enjoys dancing for Hindi songs...Here we see his version of a Bangra!
While Kulapathi Silvaraju (Mohana Murugesu) is too engrossed with his work on his computer,....
His wife Kulamata Amutha (Ratna Sivalingam) enjoys distracting him for some amusement.....Well....she did try very hard!
The oscar winning love story of Kulapathi Selladurai(Katharuben) and Kulamata Shanthi(Puventhiren Pragasam).....Even our little Tarakini can't seem to control her laughter...
The romantic couples lost in their duet......Love is in the air indeed!
This Kulapathi loves to dance! Just that everytime he dances, he reminds his kulamata (his wife) of a....CHICKEN!
Even then, finally he manages to win her over for a dance session together..... Kulapathi Sivajnani (Aravind Raj) and Kulamata Amala(Thivya Uma) in action!
A heart melting poem by Shivani Sivananda came next......
Followed by a dance by Puventiren & Juvasdeva Pragasam...
Our little Komal and Lavanya Deva also prepared a short presentation on Fathers Love....
The final performance...A beautiful Father's Day song by Hemavalli Sivalingam...
Cake cutting session....
Followed by a short testimonial by all fathers...Kulapathi Appasamy came first...,"A real joy for a father to see his children being successful in life" he said...
Kulapathi Murugesu's turn came next...
Followed by Kulapathi Dassan..and Kulapathi Silvaraju (not in the picture)
Kulapathi Selladurai expressed his joy of the great event..
And Kulapathi Sivajnani told how he could not stop laughing throughout the show..... It was a definitely fun-filled event!
And the laughter continued even after the event!...HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL FATHERS!
