Here we are again back for Sun One and a bright new phase.

Gurudeva wrote: "Good conduct is a combination of avoiding unethical behavior and performing virtuous, spiritualizing acts. The accumulated wisdom of thousands of years of Hindu culture has evolved ten niyamas, or religious observances."

Bodhinatha today gave his discourse on the 9th Niyama called "Japa." He only has one more to deliver and this series will be complete. He has these all carefully written down and is sending them out to the catalysts in Malaysia who will use them in their youth courses.

Meanwhile it appears that we had some difficulty with links last phase to the "Yamas and Niyamas" multi-media tool for parents and teachers... Please click here to try again if you had trouble previously.

Bodhinatha's Sun One Video. Most Recent update: June 8, 2003, Bodhinatha speaks on Siddhanta Shravana, Scriptural Listening, Niyama #6.

Study and listen to learned people and our primary scriptures, the Vedas and Upanishads and other holy texts. This guides us to become more spiritual people. But it is listening, more than reading, that is meant by this practice, for listening is more powerful. As Yogaswami said, "It is not in books, you fool!" Rather it is through hearing that the more subtle forms of knowledge are passed from the knower to the listener, from the teacher to the student. This happens most potently when the speaker has had spiritual experiences.
Bodhinatha continues with a second subject on the importance of the Guru in our religious lives.

Cybertalk: Part 2 of 7 - Continuing Bodhinatha's first Guru Purnima class on the role of the guru, focusing on the guru's major task of helping us improve our behavior by giving us guidelines for how we as a spiritual person should behave. In looking at refining our adherence to the yamas and niyamas, we begin by looking at the first and foremost yama, ahimsa, not harmind others in thought, word and deed, particularly the refinement of making sure our speech to others is true, kind, helpful and necessary.

Agni dances and carries the prayers to the inner worlds.

It's dark in the temple, but a slight adjustment of the camera and we can take a longer exposure.... Many prayers were burned today.

Gurudeva often said that fire was the only pure element left on earth.

Welcome to the Spiritual Park of Mauritius! The Park is open to the public from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm. Visitors usually come to enjoy the exquisite natural beauty of the place and regular ones never miss to attend the Ganesha Homa held at the Ganesha Mandapam on the first Sunday of every month.

This is the July Homa event at the Park, hosted by the Koothan kutumba (extended family) from the south and the Manick kutumba from the north. Everyone enjoys sitting in the spiritual vibration of the Kerala style Mandapam.

Worshipping Lord Ganesha brings great Blessings to visitors. Our Hindu Saivite Scriptures explain how Lord Ganesha helps clear our way of Obstacles

Prayers written by devotees are being burnt into the sacred fire. These prayers contain humble requests to inner world beings for assistance in various walks of life.

Brahmachari Vel Mahalingum who acts as the officiating priest during the Ganesha Homa is now not alone in this task. He is being helped by the young boys coming up in the Church. Here we see Sivarathna and Dayananda sitting close to him.

Grihini Sarada Koothan from Chemin Grenier rarely misses to share a testimony during the Ganesha Homas. Here she is telling everyone how she prayed Lord Ganesha to help one of her neighbors who was becoming a problem to his family, to stop drinking. And her prayers were answered...!

The arthi to lord Pancha Mukha Ganapati is usually a moment of intense devotion.

Mr. Ramasawmy Madre from Port Louis, gave a wonderful testimony on that day about how the teachings of Gurudeva from Dancing With Siva changed his life. He related how though the Blessings of Lord Ganesha, he became a religious person. His encounter with Ganesha was a miracle in his life. Today our friend of the Spiritual Park is a happy man with a happy family. He runs a software company in Mauritius. He has taught his son (in the photo) and daughter to always worship Lord Ganesha every day.

Our ladies and youth helping to serve prasadam to our visitors.

Grihini Jeetunshiv and her two sons Rathnavara and Devajothi are enjoying some delicious prasadam under the shade of the mango trees.

This is the Rungapen family from Rivire du Rempart. They attend the Ganesha Homa regularly. One of the young ladies (in orange saree) gave a testimony of how she prayed Lord Ganesha to help her to buy her first personal car recently. She asked Lord Ganesha to help the local Transport Authority to give her a special spiritual number for her car. She got it from them. It's unique in the island. Her car plate number is now 'G 108' which stands for Lord Ganesha and His 108 names.

This is Madhvi Venkatasamy from Goodlands. Our young lady was regularly attending the Sivayogaswami Youth retreats in Mauritius and she is close to our Church. She stayed in London for quite some time to pursue higher studies in Air Travelling. Welcome back to Mauritius Madhvi!

Kiran Keerohur from Curepipe is no new-comer to the Spiritual Park. He is currently reading Gurudeva's teachings from the Saivite trilogy. This month he wanted to bring his mother to attend the Ganesha Homa. And here she is...happy to be with so many bright souls! She is proud of her son walking the Sanathana Dharma path on his own. Kiran is a high-calibre computer programmer and is employed by one of the largest companies of the island.

The Mootoocurpen family from Quatre Bornes. They are happy to be at the Spiritual Park during the Ganesha Homa to enjoy the darshan of the deity and to feel closer to the sishyas of the Church. The Mootoocurpen family have been very supportive to the Park.

Our young lady here is Vasanthi. Her mother and herself are attending the Ganesha Homa for the first time at the Park. Vasanthi is the daughter of Varsen Luchmanen, a well known temple priest of the island. Coming to the Spiritual Park is very inspiring for them. Vasanthi is registering herself with Himalayan Academy to study the Master Course by correspondence. She wants to become a Church member. It was Gurudeva who gave her the name Vasanthi.

After the ceremony is over our ladies happily help washing utensils and other recipients used on that day. Here we see Kulamata Premila Manick, Ghrihini Sarada Koothan and Madhvi helping at the kitchen sink.

Title: Anger Management
Category: The Spiritual Path
Duration: 5 min., 22 seconds
Date Given: April 17, 1999
Given by: Gurudeva

Greetings to everyone in cyberspace. This is Kauai Aadheenam. 17th of April and, Aloha. We are very happy to be back with you after our wonderful retreat.

The last day of the retreat we had a beautiful visit from Pandit Ravi Shankar, who is a very famous teacher of the Hindu religion and he is working with the tribes of India, establishing many, many schools.

We received a book today on 'Anger Management'. A lot of people are very angry today. They are angry at their spouse and they are angry at their boss, they are angry at themselves. This is really a wonderful book. We are going to review it in 'Hinduism Today', our international magazine. If you are an angry person and I think that, out of the many, many people who are tuning in to Kauai Aadheenam today, you might want to pick up a copy of this book. Many people are angry because of what is in their subconscious mind, their experiences and their emotions locked into the experience and the memory patterns of the mind keeps them stirred up all the time. anger is a lower emotion and it comes in various forms. Sulking, long silences, spouting out at improper moments, being unreasonable. Many people who have had drugs have touched into higher chakras but opened permanently the lower chakras, where anger exists. Anger comes unbidden at all sorts of times, for no particular reason. The nerves are kind of raw. Drug experiences can be very expensive on the nerve system and it is a deterrent to spiritual unfoldment. Carrying resentment in the subconscious mind is prolonged anger for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, every day of the year.

How do you get rid of resentment? Well, you can realize that what has happened to you, you created sometime back in this life or previous life, and it is just coming back to you. So, don't fight life. Many people on the spiritual path are trying to get on the spiritual path or interested in learning about the spiritual path, for them we shall define what the spiritual path is. The spiritual path is bringing the soul qualities out and everyone has the same kind of soul qualities. They are all 4-letter words. Love, nice. Those nice 4-letter words! Everyone has those qualities, able to be nice, able to give love, able to find happiness by making someone else happy, those are soul qualities because the soul is a radiant body of light, made up of quantum particles. Around it, it has an astral body. It has an intellect that it can use and it has a physical body. Yes, it does have emotions that are not the soul's but a tool of the soul. The intellect is not the soul but a tool of the soul. The five states of mind are not the soul's but a tool of the soul. Because, the soul is perfect, satchidananda, perfect bliss. And, that is what we are getting on the spiritual path to find out and anger is one of the biggest barriers. You can do much sadhana, a month of sadhana and gain a lot of positive energy and dissipate that energy and lose it in five minutes of anger. It all goes away and you are back where it was, back at starting point. Many people on the spiritual path are just spinning their wheels. They perform sadhana, they are very sincere and also angry, which destroys the results of that sadhana.

Now we are going to have this talk given in several different languages. The beautiful Tamil language, French and Malay. So, if you want to hear it in another language, just push that button.
