"Then there is the joy of the mysticism of Hinduism. It is the world's most magical religion, offering worlds within worlds of esoteric discovery and perception. The inner worlds are what Hindu mystics tell of in the greatest richness and freedom of expression that exists on the planet. Mysticism in Hinduism is more out-front than in all the other religions of the world. As a result, it is enjoyed by more of the people in our religion. Mysticism is discussed more broadly and not limited to a few great souls or a handful of pandits. The mysticism of Hinduism is for all the people; yet, too, in its esoteric aspect it is protected at its core and kept sacred by being kept secret. How grand is the Hindu mystical tradition, with its sadhanas and yogas, with its wealth of understanding of the etheric bodies, of the nadis and the chakras, of the aura and the pranas, of the various states of consciousness and levels of existence, and so much more. No other religion on the Earth can ever begin to equal Hinduism's mystical teachings; all that wealth is the rightful inheritance of each Hindu. " -- Gurudeva

The import of the scripture,
The way leading to liberation,
The reality of Truth cannot be understood by man. "
Bodhinatha's Sun One Video. Most Recent update: September 12, 2003. Bodhinatha speaks on Ahimsa, noninjury, yama #1, which is noninjury in thought, word and deed. The law of karma decrees that it is wise not to harm or hurt others, for we will then receive harm and hurt in exchange in the future. 12 minutes, 29 seconds.

It is a quiet, cool, still, slightly overcast day at the Aadheenam. Peace pervades... "Happenings" are:
Island Temple magazine editorial work is done and all the files shipped to our printer in Missouri by the internet today.
In the Pilliyar Kulam Shanmuganathaswami and Sadhaka Jivanandanatha continue to refine all our information systems, making many improvements in the Hinduism Today subscription department and other areas.
Ekadanta Kulam is working on innersearch and making plans with the Lambodhara Kulam for the Maha Samadhi week here that is coming soon. They are also building a list of teachers of Hinduism and may even have a Yahoo group for these in the days ahead. In the Lambodara Kulam Sadhaka Haranandinatha is preparing mailing lists for the Island Temple to be ready to mail them out when the come off the press next week.
Siddhidata Kulam has decorated the grounds with festival flags and continues with their many maintenance tasks... Today they went and trimmed foliage along the Path of the Saiva Saints.
Is it purple or lavender?
The symbol of Mangolam... otherwise known as "paisley"....
and here's a good answer to an often asked question:
"Until we have peace in our own heart, we can't hope for peace in the world. Peace is the natural state of the mind. It is there, inside, to be discovered in meditation, maintained through self-control, and then radiated out to others. The best way to promote peace is to teach families to be peaceful within their own homes by settling all conflicts quickly." -- Gurudeva
