"Hold your consciousness high, keep your mind alive and alert so that your soul is alive and alert. You have heard me say many times, "Observation is the first awakening of the soul." If your observation is intense and accurate, your mind is not bothered and you are not regretting things that have happened to you in the past. But people who have poor observation often do hold on to their regrets, and they rationalize most of what happens to them, putting the blame for their own experiences on someone else. It is so much easier to close the door on these reactions and live more like on a spring day rather than in the dead of winter. Life is meant to be lived joyously. The awakened soul is a joyous soul with a positive mind. The practice of observation will bring you closer and closer to this state of consciousness." --Gurudeva

Living with Siva.

Bodhinatha's emphasis on the Yamas and Niyamas is directly in line with one of Gurudeva's core teachings: "We are happy, serene and stable when we follow good conduct, when we listen to our conscience, the knowing voice of the soul. The superconscious mind, the mind of our soul, knows and inspires good conduct, out of which comes a refined, sustainable culture. Wrongdoing and vice lead us away from God, deep into the darkness of doubt, despair and self-condemnation. "
Bodhinatha's Sun One Video. Most Recent update: September 12, 2003. Bodhinatha speaks on Ahimsa, noninjury, yama #1, which is noninjury in thought, word and deed. The law of karma decrees that it is wise not to harm or hurt others, for we will then receive harm and hurt in exchange in the future. 12 minutes, 29 seconds.

The Siddhidata Kulam on the grounds today, working out front of the temple. Sadhaka Nilakantha is back on the team.
The banyan tree delivers an endless supply of leaves to be removed.
The front of Kadavul Temple.
Sadhaka Nilakantha is really happy to be home after his period of training at the organic farm in New York... where the cold season was just beginning to hit. He's back now with all his brothers!
Leaves, leaves, leaves.
The view from the side of the temple. Take a walk from here and enter the wonderland of San Marga.
Tools of the yard work are all kept in a small trailer that can be easily taken anywhere on the property.
A cabinet is mounted on the trailer with all the necessary supplies: sharpening tools, pruning sheers, rice cutters, loppers, weed-wacker line etc. No time is wasted getting prepared to do the job. Just hook up the trailer, drive away and get to work!
