Join Bodhinatha in Malaysia!

Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami will be traveling through Malaysia on his pilgrimage to India in 2004. Please join him and his devotees for a gala event in KL.

Bodhinatha will be giving vibhuthi blessings after the event. Those who attend will also receive a free copy of the new Island Temple magazine.

Bodhinatha is working on a variety of publications in the afternoons on Suns 2, 3, and 4 each phase. Other days he continues training his new Pilliyar Kulam team member Sadhaka Jivananandanatha our "Information Manager." He gets up very early each morning for his personal research and preparations for classes and teachings that he presents.

We are always impressed by the Gujarati Patels who like to stick together and travel in groups. This is such a refreshing change from the nuclear family mode of operation we see in modern life. Normally we have a group of elders coming together but today this wonderful group of young people are visiting Kauai for a few days and
the concierge at the hotel they are staying at told them about a Siva temple on the island. So they made the temple their first place of visit two days ago but we were closed. Determined to spend some time at Siva's island home
they returned today and enjoyed our daily Siva puja and a tour of the grounds and Iraivan.

Each day one of the kulams share news at lunchtime. We will try to recap the highlights, since there is a lot happening but we don't really have photos for it.

Today the Ekadanta Kulam, Talaivar, Saravananathaswami and his assistant, Sadhaka Dandapani, gave us their current activities. Swami has been making arrangements for the departure of Thambynathan Girish Samugam who will go back home to Singapore in a few days at the end of his fall break from school. Saravananathaswami wrapped up the November tithing reports for the Church and has turned his attention now to communications with all the new Master Course students that have enrolled recently in Mauritius. This involves making sure everyone is properly enrolled in our data base, all records are up-to-date and all the necessary materials for their correspondence study are prepared and sent. This is an "ancient duty" that Gurudeva has had his monks doing for nearly 50 years.

Also, Swami works on the advance planning for Bodhinatha's travels. Bodhinatha will be going to Mauritius for Ganesha Chaturthi celebrations and stopping over in Malaysia and Singapore. During this trip members who are ready will be receiving their Mantra Diksha initiation.

Sadhaka Dandapani has been finalizing arrangements for activities for the India Odyssey Innersearch. Every meal, every moment, every transit, every cultural event he has mapped out in exquisite detail. He shared with us how wonderful it was to work with our liason officer in India, Mr. Nellaiappan. Nellaiappan made a complete tour of all venues where Bodhinatha and the group will be staying in Tamil Nadu, making sure that all arrangements for special pujas and events at the temples were settled. It was a big job for him and he is really good at getting things done.

Nellaiappan, we know you look at TAKA regularly, so from all of us to you, a big MIKKA NANDRI, MAHALO, THANK YOU! We will see you in just a few weeks. 🙂
