Gurudeva rounds the "point" likely on his way back from Iraivan Temple, and about to pass the koi pond. It is from this point one has the best view of the Wailua River and Mount Waialeale.

In Living with Siva, Gurudeva wrote, "If distractions keep coming up in meditation over a long period of time, then perhaps you are not ready to meditate. There has to be a point where distractions stop. Until then you are hooked very strongly into the instinctive or intellectual area of the mind, and the whole idea of meditation won't inspire you very much. Therefore, you need something to spur you on inwardly. In Hinduism when this occurs, the grace of the Satguru is sought."

As one of the monks met with Bodhinatha today, he said, "My mind's already left, so let's just discuss what has to be decided now and can't wait until after the Innersearch." The approach did keep the conversation short, as the minds of everyone at the Aadheenam turned toward the Innersearch launch. The first team of two monks, Paramacharya Palaniswami and Sadhaka Dandapani, are departing for California tomorrow morning. In a couple of days, they'll leave for Asia with the majority of the Innersearchers who are departing from San Francisco.

It was a quiet day for guests.

Bodhinatha's Sun One Video. Most Recent update: September 12, 2003. Bodhinatha speaks on Ahimsa, noninjury, yama #1, which is noninjury in thought, word and deed. The law of karma decrees that it is wise not to harm or hurt others, for we will then receive harm and hurt in exchange in the future. 12 minutes, 29 seconds.

Sannyasin Saravananathaswami is responsible for the Church members and students. He is discussing with Bodhinatha both what he needs to do while the trip is in progress, and what members and students need attention along the way. The Innersearch is always a very intense time for the members and students.

Sadhaka Dandapani when he has to get on a plane in less than 24 hours...

Yogi Japendranatha and Sannyasin Natarajnathaswami are both on the Innersearch staff. They've spent the last week helping with all the final preparations. Here they are cutting up and folding name cards for the meal seatings. The meal seating is assigned most of the time, and regularly altered so that the Innersearchers get to know everyone on the trip.

Our Hewlett Packer plotter has been running full time for days. This is the big banner the Innersearchers hold in front of them when they get their picture taken as a group. It's an Innersearch tradition going back to 1969. Puli, our Bengali cat and mastcot of the publication department, is supervising this particular job.

Bali Hai meditation area on the Wailua River, just below the Iraivan Temple site. The falls on the left is one of the magical places on the property.

The North Fork of the Wailua River rushes by the Aadheenam grounds. This area is where eventually steps will be made to reach the river before entering the temple.
