Gurudeva makes a note in the Guru Peedam, where he would meet guests in a formal manner.
In Living with Siva, he wrote, "We must realize that meditation is the disciplined art of tuning into the deepest and most subtle spiritual energies. It's not a fad. It's not a novelty. It's not something you do because your next-door neighbor does. It is sacred, the most sacred thing you can do on this planet, and it must be approached with great depth and sincerity."

Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami on the ocean at sunset. In a few hours, he and the Innersearchers will be attending the big Iraivan Temple event. This morning in Kuala Lumpur, they visited the Pudu Pillaiyar temple, and then those who wanted to went shopping while the rest could return to the hotel. The Iraivan event begins at 6:15 pm at the Kandaswamy Temple. The recently renovated temple has a fine performance hall holding a thousand people.
Bodhinatha's Sun One Video. Most Recent update: September 12, 2003. Bodhinatha speaks on Ahimsa, noninjury, yama #1, which is noninjury in thought, word and deed. The law of karma decrees that it is wise not to harm or hurt others, for we will then receive harm and hurt in exchange in the future. 12 minutes, 29 seconds.

Just a few days ago copies of "Yoga's Forgotten Foundations" arrived from the printer in Malaysia. The first copy was placed upon the guru's seat in the Guru Temple.
The book up close. This is a presentation of the twenty yamas and niyamas. Most meditation and hatha yoga students know that the first step on the path of meditation is "yama/niyama," because it says so in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and well as other texts on hatha yoga and meditation. However, many proceed without making a sincere attempt to actually practice the yamas and niyamas, which include noninjury, truthfulness, nonstealing, patience, worship and more.
Saint Sambandar dances now in a clean and clear pool of water outside Kadavul Temple, a sign that the clean up after our recent wind storm is progressing. There remains a lot to be done, including removal of several large (and one VERY large) trees that crashed down in the high winds.
Among those "left behind" during the Innersearch are cats such as Puli, the "companion animal" of Yogi Japendranatha. The forlorn feline sleeps daily upon Yogi's chair at his work station.
Our weather remains a bit on the strange side, with dry Kona winds are the norm now. These are winds caused by storm systems a thousand miles north of us. They blow opposite to the trade winds, that is, out of the southwest, and from the Kona coast of the "Big Island" (the island of Hawaii, last of the chain) -- hence their name "Kona winds." Here they push clouds over Mt. Waialeale.
Ajit and Sarasvani Jayaram visited today from New Jersey. They are originally from Bangalore. They were very inspired by their visit, impressed with the grounds and Iraivan construction. They decided to let more Hindus of America know about the Aadheenam by sponsoring an ad in India Abroad, which has a large circulation on the East Coast. They also bought out our entire supply of rudraksha malas available at the temple's "Mini Mela" gift shop.
Gurudeva's spiritual center in the island country of Mauritius
in the Indian Ocean near South Africa
Guru Jayanthi for Beloved Gurudeva Sivaya Subramuniyaswami was celebrated on January 4, 2004, at the Spiritual Park. Devotees seated could feel the cooling sea breeze blowing inside the the Ganesha Mandapam. Many devotees including sishyas and new HA students turned up on that day. Everyone followed the silent abishekam being performed on the Holy Tiruvadi.
During the pada puja the Holy Sandals of the Guru is receiving a ritual bathing with water, curd, milk, honey, ghee, rose water etc...
Everything is being ceremoniously performed under the loving eyes of Lord Pancha Mukha Ganapati.
The ladies are very concentrated...
The Holy sandals of the Satguru adorned with flowers. The satguru is a spiritual preceptor of the highest attainment--one who has realized the ultimate Truth, Parasiva, through nirvikalpa samadhi--a jivan mukta able to lead others securely along the spiritual path.
The Holy Sandals are an abundant source of the Guru's shakti.
After the arathi, everyone sat down for a silent meditation, after which Kulapati Manon Mardemootoo welcomed all the devotees present.
Satguru Bodhinatha sent a very wonderful message on that occasion, stressing on personal spiritual disciplines like doing japa regularly. Kulapati Koothan is reading Bodhinatha's message while everyone is attentively listening.
Following the talk was also time for the first Ganesha Homa for 2004. Four kulapatis sat around the sacred fire while devotees chanted the holy Mantra of Lord Ganapati.
The Ganesha Homa for that month was sponsored by the Koothan, Moorghen and Manick Kutumbas of the Mauritius Mission. Here Kul. Manon is leading the ceremony.
A lot of devotees turned up on that day and there were hundreds of notes to be burnt in the Homa sacred fire.
Here is Kulapati SK Moorghen sending offerings into the sacred fire for Divine Beings of the inner worlds.
When all the notes were burnt, Kulapati Manick was called upon to animate a testimony session during which several devotees came forward to share beautiful and uplifting testimonies about how Gurudeva has changed their lives. Many talked about how the Guru would mystically know their thoughts and plans before these were verbally shared with the Guru.
The ceremony over, everyone came forward for a pinch of vibhuti and other sacred items. Our male youth are always called upon for this seva.
Here our young girls of the Church, from left to right, Amooda, Sooda, Ariadasi and Arulmani, all looking bright and happy.
