Hanuman's New Base

On this special Subha Siva Loka Day, and a day Bodhinatha is flying off to the Very Big Island, Hanuman received a new concrete base. It will be His home for a thousand years, so we took time to make it just right. A team of eight worked on it today. Enjoy the slideshow that tells the tale...

How to describe this masterly work?

Patrick Kipper applies a torch to bond the chemicals with the metal, making a brass color look like green jade.

The new home is out near the Rudraksha Forest in a pasture.

Jim Fain and his team built the box the last two days. With lots of support since the concrete is heavy and could break through the forms if under built.

At 7:35am the cement truck and pump team arrived and set up in the Rudraksha Forest parking lot.

Image

The pump moved the concrete about 150 feet to the form.

Inside the form you see the rebar and some black tubes. Here the hose delivers a stream of concrete.

Image

It took about an hour to fill the box.

Image

The tubes were placed precisely to correspond to this template sent from Colorado, showing exactly where Hanuman\

s stainless steel rods will go. '

Image

The tubes must be exactly vertical, so much care was taken to set them right. They were removed at just the right softness of the concrete, something only an expert knows.

Good job, Jim! Jai Hanuman!
