Another Walkabout

On a walk around the monastery we run into many activities. Work, worship, its all the same to the monks. Our routine is simple and sweet. Join me on this short trip around the main building of our home...

Its not always easy to catch the monks on camera. Their humility stops them from boasting about the complex nature of our seva. But Im quick with the camara today. Sadhaka Dayanatha waves as he drives by the machine shop, on his way to the next job.

Nirvani Tejadevanatha repairing a broken window in the truck. He thinks Im only making light conversation until...

He turns and realizes the camera is on!

Our herb and flower garden right outside the kitchen is called \"Nakshatra Gardens.\" Here we can find basil, parsley, lemon grass and various flowers.

Its pretty easy to catch Raja Raja in the afternoon; he has busy mornings though.

Shanmuganathaswami and Natyam Mayuranatha are about to suit up and repair our bovine fence-line. The Pilliyar Kulam just recently prepared yet another lush pasture for our cows to enjoy.

Pandiyan the cat is also easy to catch in the afternoon, anytime actually...

Kadavul Temple from the Muruga shrine side. The sun is setting behind. Soon the doors will close to the outside, but on the inside- worship, meditation, devotional singing, cleaning, chanting- all goes on throughout the night. Kadavul never actually closes, the worship never ceases to exist.

The afternoon pujari and resident TAKA photographer Sadhaka Jayanatha is performing abhishekam to Ganesha in the side shrine. Looks like i can sneak a shot...

Nope. I make myself known by getting a little too close. A red cloth is about to be lovingly wrapped around Lord Ganesha. Aum Sivaya Everyone.
