Guru-Shishya Class
October 1, 2015Recently the young monks enjoyed a two hour class with their satguru. The class is a continuation on Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. Satguru Bodhinatha has developed a commentary on the Yoga Sutras and is preparing another class on how Patanjali's Sutras relates to Gurudeva's writings.
"Patanjali was a Saivite Natha siddha (ca 200 BCE) who codified the ancient yoga philosophy which outlines the path to enlightenment through purification, control and transcendence of the mind. His system is one of the six classical philosophical systems (darshanas) of Hinduism and is known as Yoga Darshana. In English it is called Classical Yoga."
