Sun 1 Homa and Mantra Diksha
October 6, 2015Namaste everyone, Today the monks performed our weekly homa in Kadavul temple with the special addition of mantra diksha given to Roshan Sivayogam from Malaysia. One has to work hard to receive this diksha, and Roshan has done it.
There is also some photos that have been color corrected for your enjoyment and fun. The homa fire was expressive this morning, see what design is coming through and comment!

The walls of Kadavul are formed by Siva\
s Tandava dance. \"All motion begins in God and ends in God. The whole universe is engaged in a whirling flow of change and activity. This is Siva\'s dance. We are all dancing with Siva, and He with us. Ultimately, we are Siva dancing.\"'

Natyam Nandinatha performs the homa today. We use the pujari\
s invocations to draw us in, some do japa at this time, and some prepare for chanting Sri Rudram. \"Bearing Ganga on spreading, matted locks, the forehead eye sparkling, the breath spirating as tempestuous wind, the immaculate form shining radiant as the clear sky, the holy feet stretching to the ends of Earth, the blemishless heart serving as pedestal, the Vedas chanting aloud of themselves, the right hand that grants refuge and the left hand that grants favors both appropriately gesturing, the nada sound of drum filling the air all around-thus Siva dances.\"'

A small shrine in front of the homa. Ganesha is first on the left, opposite him is Lord Hanuman, in the middle we have the Siva and Varuna kumbha. Gurudeva knew that Iraivan temple was being supported by Lord Hanuman. The weekly homa in Kadavul is for Iraivan temple.

Devotees begin to arrive at 6am.

Let the fire dance begin!

The time is right for mantra diksha to begin

\"Love of Siva\
s feet eradicates bad karma. Love of Siva\'s feet grants you clarity of mind. Love of Siva\'s feet imbues the heart with gladness. Love of Siva\'s feet is consciousness itself.\"'

\"He should repeat the Siva mantra according to his ability, and there should be circumambulation, obeisance and surrender of the self.\"

\"At the root of dhyana is the form of the guru. At the root of puja are the feet of the guru. At the root of mantra is the word of the guru, and at the root of all liberation is the grace of the guru.\"

Bodhinatha signs the vow book, cementing the act into the ethers
