Smaller Articles of Hinduism Today

A smaller portion of Hinduism Today rarely talked about, is a collection of pages given to a beginning editor monk consisting of: Global Dharma, Letters to the Editor, Quotes and Quips, Did You Know?, Basics and the Agamas page. All of these articles are used as training because within them holds the foundation of all good articles: Who, What, Where, Why and Who Cares. In other words, why is someone going to want to read this. What are we reporting on that has not been said on another news site or blog. Check out the captions for more detail.

Global Dharma. The shortest articles in the magazine, jam packed with everything you need to know in one or two sentences. Sometimes reducing an interesting story can be extremely difficult. Making a concise point into a few hundred words from a much larger story is the beginning of our editors training at Hinduism Today.

Letters to the Editor is one of the most highly read parts of a magazine. This is a great page to check out criticism and praise for the previous issues, all in one spread.

Quotes and Quips is fun, inspiring and tough. Each issue, new quotes and quips are sought after that have never been published in Hinduism Today. The search usually is an unending journey. The Quotes and Quips monk researches quotes everyday for the four issues published in a year.

Did You Know? is another shortest article spot in the magazine, right next to Basics in the Quotes and Quips section. An informative piece on abstract info we dont always hear about, and if we have, we had no idea thats how or why it happens that way, and then you know.

The Basics article usually features a good basic teaching of Hinduism. Occasionally a crossword puzzle finds itself on the page.

The Agamas page speaks for itself. A timeless section of our Agama or Veda scripture. This page is a joy to work on. For a monk, reading these mystical pages of scripture on the job, almost feels as if were playing hooky from school. The Agama page topics range from mahapralaya--the end of a galactic cycle--down to taking birth and the reasons for it. This page is truly a gem for soul seekers.
