New Garden Water Tower
October 23, 2015The monks of the Siddhidatta Kulam recently created an improved water tower for the monastery's vegetable garden. Using old I-beams that had been left on our newly acquired land, they fashioned the tower's main structure. This tower can hold more water, weather more weather, and has increased natural water pressure from its tall hight.

The tower is installed

It was a long journey, all starting with this

That will take a lot of work!

The I-beam is brought the the shop

It\
s cut to proper lengths and then cleaned up with a sledge hammer and then a metal grinder'

The pieces are welded together and it starts to take shape

The completed structure!

it\
s given some rust-proof paint'

and a nice final coat

The old wooden tower has to come down

The tank is removed

amazing what a monk can do when he puts his mind to it

The tower is placed and leveled

the top boards are put in place

A nice view from up there

and finally the tank

Success! Aum Namah Sivaya
