2018 Mahasamadhi Parade
November 5, 2018On the second afternoon of our Mahasamadhi festival the group paraded tiruvadi from Gurudeva's shrine out to Umbrella Ganesha, Iraivan Temple, the Swayambhu Lingam, Rishi Nandinatha and Rishi Tirumular, and finally to Dakshinamurti.
"Nothing is more precious than the first soul-quickening, life-changing shaktipata from a guru. Nothing is more central to spiritual awakening than the progressive dikshas, or initiations, he bestows." - Gurudeva

The parade sets out from Kadavul Temple

The tiruvadi are set in a small chariot

The group first stops at Umbrella Ganesha for an arati

Then off towards Iraivan Temple

At each stop, Satguru carries the tiruvadi for the arati

We make our way inside Iraivan Temple for an arati in the inner sanctum

The ramp for the avudaiyar is set up just outside, ready for the day of its installation

Shivacharya performs some beautiful chants, which resound wonderfully against the stone

Then we travel out around Iraivan Temple and over to the Swayambhu Lingam square

On arrival, an arati to Ganesha and Muruga

The Tiruvadi are set down in from of the Lingam stone

An arati to Rishi Nandinatha

Then off to Rishi Tirumular

A lovely site along the way

Finally an arati at Dakshinamurti

Next the group returns to Kadavul

On arrival, a final offering of flowers and an arati

Jai Gurudeva!
