Nandi Mandapam Progress

Work continues on Iraivan Temple's Nandi Mandapam. Several weeks ago we lifted the most recent layer of stones onto the structure. Having placed the stones the silpis are working now on small refinements in parallel with the Mukha Mandapam's Floor installation.

Several weeks ago we had master crane operator Larry Conklin out at Iraivan Temple, helping to lift the next layer of stones

Each of these pieces has an eve which overhangs the structure

They must be lifted and placed carefully as to not damage the carving underneath

The team places the straps and Larry begins the lift

Atop the mandapam, Swami directs the lowering of the stones

Larry has done nearly all the stone lifting for Iriavan Temple

Weeks later and the stones are perfectly aligned and the detail work can be done to complete the joints
