Today's Sun 1 Homa
February 24, 2016We begin a new phase with our usual, unbroken routine of having a homa in Kadavul temple. Saravananathaswami leads the group with his powerful chanting.

A homa for us is 5 separate pujas. First Ganesha, then Hanuman, Varuna, Siva in kumbha and then Siva in the fire.

Each short puja is comprised of dhupam(incense), dhipam(offering light), naivedyam(food offering) and final arati.

Sri Rudram begins after the 4 initial pujas have happened. The fire begins as Rudram takes off.

After each Iraivan Day, when the monks have come together and stuffed envelopes for Iraivan fundraising, the letters are brought to the homa for blessings and then shipped out. May the devas follow them and arrive safely in your home.

The group sits quietly while a strong and powerful ceremony takes place. We hope you can one day enjoy the quiet power that instills as the homa fire blazes in Kadavul temple. Aum Namah Sivaya
