Iraivan Temple Updates
January 17, 2019With the shiplis here on Kauai, work on Iraivan Temple is continuously moving forward. On Thai Pongal we took a short tour of everything that has been happening this week.

The small yalli rails along the entry steps are a sight to behold

Steady progress is still being made on the Nandi Mandapam

Inside we appreciate some of the stones that are already in place

Outside under the tent are the ceiling stones of the Nandi Mandapam. These will be hanging upside down

The next layer of the mandapam is being laid out in preparation for placement

At the temple entrance, one of the two new pillar carvings is completed. It is the Crystal Lingam. The top part has been smoothed to perfection.

We are shown the three little stones that were used for the final smooth finish. They are worn down to almost nothing.

Some of the intricate carvings on the entry steps. If you know granite carving, this is amazingly detailed.
