San Francisco Bay Area Hindu Bhajanai Group
June 2, 2016On May 15 while traveling, Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami was inivited to give an upadesha to the Bay Area Hindu Bhajani Group. The Group meets monthly in different homes around the San Francisco Bay Area, CA and their mission is, "To educate and inculcate Hindu values, principles, traditions, and teachings to the children in the community. Provide a spiritual forum for the elders and families to gather regularly. Encourage children and adults to do service in the community."
This month's gathering drew about 100 devotees, including many children and youth. It was held within the home of Mr. and Mrs. Siva and Sugi Swaminathan of Fremont, CA. Sannayasins Shanmuganathaswami and Siddhanathaswami accompanied Satguru. We present a slideshow of images from the day's event.

The event was initiated by a group chanting and singing segment.

Our traveling Swamis tell us that the singing skills of the group, especially the children, were phenomenal.

The group regularly sings and teaches to the youth Panchapuranam, Thiruppugal, Yogaswami\
s Natchintanai, bhajans, and other sacred literature.'

Satguru then presented his talk on Dharma, which was well received by the group.

The kids also shared their instrumental talents.

Everyone came forward to receive vibhuti prasadam from Satguru.

And of course, food! A plethora Tamil savory and sweet dishes to fill the hearts (and stomachs) of everyone.

Group photo time! Satguru and our Swamis pose the the gentlemen,

The Swaminathan family, whose hearts and home hosted Satguru this evening. The three generations shown here are a beautiful example of living tradition, remaining strong through love, adaptation, and a sense of community. We highly commend their ongoing successful efforts to promote, protect, and preserve Hindu Dharma.
